THE 2026 WORLD CUP BETTING COMPETITION IS ON!

The wait is finally over! The World Cup is back, and that of course means it's also time for this year's big World Cup betting competition!

This isn't just a competition to guess who will be the world champion. This is the competition that really puts your World Cup knowledge to the test. With questions from all the group stage matches, you'll need to follow the entire tournament to stay at the top of the table.

This year's World Cup will be historic. Norway is participating, a record number of nations are competing for the most prestigious trophy in international football, and we have several weeks ahead of us filled with drama, surprises, jubilation and heartbreak.

Do you have the best knowledge of the World Cup? Can you anticipate the surprises, find the hidden points-getters and keep a cool head when the favorites fail? Now is your chance to prove it!

Unlike many other betting competitions, this one is about more than just the final results. It's about following the entire group stage, match by match, day by day. Every goal, every result and every surprise could be decisive in the fight for the prize pool and the title of this year's World Cup expert.

It's simply much more fun to follow the World Cup when you have something to play for! We will also try to provide regular updates, tables and status reports throughout the championship, so that the excitement lives on all the way to the final.

HOW TO ENTER THE WORLD CUP BETTING COMPETITION

Please fill out the attached betting form (Excel file) and send it to the following email address: andre.fonbek@gmail.com.

The form is also available on our Facebook page (insert link), and will be shared on our Discord server which you can find here!

Important: There doesn't have to be a complete correlation between how you think the group stage will end, which teams you think will advance, and who you think will be crowned world champions. You are free to predict different scenarios. However, remember that you cannot list the same country more than once in questions 97, 98, and 100.

Participation fee

NOK 125,- of which NOK 100,- goes to the prize pool and NOK 25,- covers administration.

Payable via VIPPS to:

92 49 40 48 (André Raad Fonbæk)

AWARDS

🥇 1st place: 50% of the prize pool
🥈 2nd place: 30%
🥉 3rd place: 20%

In the event of a tie, the relevant prize shares are divided equally between the players.

Example: If two participants share 1st place, the 1st and 2nd place prizes (total 80%) are divided equally, so that both receive 40% of the prize pool.

Deadline

Friday, June 11 at 8:59 PM

Both the form and participation fee must be received by the deadline.

I hope as many people as possible will join!

Important information about questions 85–96

These questions concern goal scorers in the group stage.

If a player is injured or removed from the squad before the opening match of the World Cup, there will be an opportunity to change your answer.

However, if the player is injured or disappears from the squad after the championship has started, the bet will stand.

Important information about questions 109 and 110

If you choose the option "Other", you can secure an additional 5 World Cup gold bonus points if you also manage to guess which country will win the World Cup or which player will be the World Cup top scorer.

If "Other" turns out to be the correct answer, you will still get the regular points (10 or 15 points), even if the country or player you specified is incorrect.

It is not mandatory to fill in the country/player when you select "Other", but it does give you an extra opportunity to collect bonus points - something I definitely recommend taking advantage of.

Example

Question 110 – Who will win the World Cup?

If Croatia wins the World Cup:

  • Per gets 15 points because he chose "Other".
  • Anne gets 20 points because she both chose "Other" and hit on Croatia.
  • Ole gets 15 points if England wins the World Cup.

Per:
France___ England___ Spain___ Portugal___ Brazil___ Argentina___ Other_X_ (Denmark)

Other:
France___ England___ Spain___ Portugal___ Brazil___ Argentina___ Other_X_ (Croatia)

Ole:
France___ England_X_ Spain___ Portugal___ Brazil___ Argentina___ Other___ (____)
