Rúben Amorim fired at Manchester United

Manchester United have parted ways with head coach Rúben Amorim with immediate effect, The Athletic reports, with David Ornstein confirming the decision. The decision comes shortly after Sunday's match against Leeds, where Amorim stormed out of a press conference after a strong tirade against the club's management. The statements were described in the British press as "the beginning of the end" for the Portuguese's time at Old Trafford, something we also pointed out in our article earlier today.

Rúben Amorim out, Darren Fletcher in.

According to The Athletic, Amorim has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect, with Darren Fletcher expected to take over as interim manager.

Amorim was appointed as United manager in November last year after Erik ten Hag was sacked. However, his time in Manchester was short-lived, marked by sporting instability and growing tensions between the coaching staff and the club's management.

Manchester United has not yet made an official statement.
