PSG must pay Mbappé over 700 million

The dispute between Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappé has been an open wound ever since the superstar left the club. Now the conflict has taken a clear turn in Mbappé's favor.

The Paris Labor Court has ruled that PSG owes Mbappé 59.2 million euros, equivalent to around 704 million kroner, in outstanding wages and bonuses. The sum relates to the period before his transfer to Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 – a transfer that was already fraught with conflict.

Mbappé has consistently claimed that PSG deliberately withheld payments after it became clear that he would not extend his contract. The club, in turn, has responded with a counterclaim, claiming that it is rather Mbappé who owes PSG huge sums, a total of 440 million euros, related to breach of contract and loyalty agreements.

So far, the court has ruled in favor of Mbappé in part, but this is far from the end. PSG have signaled that they will continue to fight legally – and with such large sums at stake, this case could quickly become one of the most sensational labor law conflicts in modern football.

One thing is clear, however: The relationship between PSG and the club's greatest star of all time is completely broken.
