Joshua put Jake Paul in his place

What started as a quiet Netflix night in Miami ended as a stark reminder of the difference between entertainment and real heavyweight boxing.

From Netflix calm to heavyweight salvos

Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua met in the ring on Saturday night . The fight was broadcast on Netflix and started at around 5:40 a.m. Norwegian time.

The first few rounds were a wait and see. Both took few chances and took time to find their rhythm.

Joshua turned up the volume

From the fourth round, the fight changed. Joshua hit more often, the pressure increased – and the punches gained noticeably more weight.

Paul was down several times, and the difference between experience and raw power became increasingly clear.

The knockout that ended the party

In the sixth round it was over. After 1 minute and 31 seconds, Joshua landed a knockout that put an end to the fight – and to any hope of an even duel.

The Netflix evening reached a brutal climax.

Paul took the loss like a pro

Paul was calm after the match.

– I feel good. It was fun. I love this sport. Anthony is a strong fighter, and I got beaten, he said.

Respect from the world champion

Joshua praised his opponent.

– I want to salute him. He stood up time after time, said the Briton.

Joshua has previously become world heavyweight champion twice, and showed that level still matters.

Hype meets reality

Jake Paul has invested heavily in boxing in recent years and last year beat boxing legend Mike Tyson. Against Joshua, there was still no doubt.

This wasn't about clicks or hype.
It was about heavyweight power.

And it belonged to Anthony Joshua
