Easter Monday volleyball doubles

Easter Monday traditionally offers a lot of Norwegian football, but there are also exciting opportunities in volleyball. I have picked two matches that I particularly believe in.

The first is from the Polish play-offs, where Kedzierzyn-Kozle meets Zawiercie in a match that could be both close and intense. The second match is from the Turkish Super Cup, where rivals Galatasaray and Fenerbahce clash in a classic rivalry match.

Kedzierzyn-Kozle – Zawiercie

In the previous match, played on March 29, it seemed for a long time that Zawiercie would take full control. At home, they led comfortably 2–0 in the set, and everything indicated that they would secure the first victory in the playoff series, which is played best of five games. However, that was not to be.

Kedzierzyn-Kozle fought back strongly and won the next sets 25–18 and 25–20, sending the match into a decisive fifth set. The teams followed each other closely throughout, before Kedzierzyn-Kozle finally pulled out the long straw and won 22–20. The turnaround was complete.

I think this has ignited a strong desire for revenge in Zawiercie. They are unlikely to take anything for granted in this match. On paper, they have a more complete team than Kedzierzyn-Kozle, and in the future they can fully focus on the playoffs in Poland. At the same time, they have already secured a place in the Final Four in the Champions League on May 16 and 17, which gives them extra security for the rest of the season.

Thus I play Zawiercie -1.5 handicap

Galatasaray – Fenerbahce

Galatasaray have won three of the last five head-to-head matches, and in my opinion they also have a more complete team than Fenerbahce.

In addition, there was important news about a week ago: Fenerbahce has terminated the contract of French star player Earvin N'Gapeth, who has, among other things, helped win two consecutive Olympic gold medals with France. This signals that the club has effectively ended its commitment for this season.

This means that Fenerbahce will enter the semi-finals with a weakened squad, both athletically and mentally. Based on that, I believe Galatasaray has a clear advantage.

That's why I'm betting Galatasaray will win the semi-final of the Turkish Super Cup.
