City 10 – Exeter 1

Manchester City delivered a display of sheer power in the FA Cup as they thrashed League One side Exeter City 10-1 at the Etihad. The game was effectively decided early on, with Pep Guardiola's men displaying ruthless efficiency against an outgunned away side in one of the most one-sided affairs of the tournament so far.

Rare sight: Haaland without a goal

In the midst of the goal celebration, there was one unusual point: Erling Braut Haaland left the field without scoring. The Norwegian started the game and was active in the game, but never found the back of the net. When City scores in double figures without Haaland on the scoreboard, it is a rare sight – and clear proof of how wide this team actually is.

Dream debut for Semenyo

While Haaland left the field goalless, newcomer Antoine Semenyo had a night he will hardly forget. In his first game in a City shirt, he immediately made his mark – both with a goal and a number of involvements in the offensive game. Semenyo looked fearless, took responsibility and showed why City chose to sign him. In a game where most of it was about collective dominance, his debut was one of the clear highlights

Ten goals – and two stories

City are through to the tournament in style. On one side: Haaland, goalless in a game where "everyone else" scored. On the other: Semenyo, with a dream debut and scoring in his first appearance. Two completely different nights - in the same game. And further proof that this City team has more strings to play on than ever.
