RBC Heritage 2026 – a completely different test

the PGA Tour moves on to the RBC Heritage, which is played at Harbour Town Golf Links. The transition could hardly be greater. But we have found good odds this weekend as well. We have now had 4 weeks of good results in a row, and we are betting on that again now.

From the wide fairways and length requirements of Augusta, players now face one of the most technical courses on the entire tour. Harbour Town is not about raw power – it’s about precision, discipline and the ability to place the ball correctly from tee to green.

A course that punishes wrong choices

Harbour Town was designed by Pete Dye, and it shows. Narrow fairways, overhanging trees and small greens make this a course where many will have to put down the driver and play more conservatively.

Key factors here are:

  • Precision from the tee (often iron or hybrid)
  • Strong input game
  • Creativity around the greens
  • Patience

This is not a course where you “blow the course to pieces.” It’s about avoiding mistakes.

A field marked by Masters aftermath

The RBC Heritage is played right after The Masters, and it affects the field every single year.

  • Some players come in with confidence and form
  • Others are tired after an intense major week
  • Several top players also choose to stand over

This makes the tournament extra interesting from a betting perspective. Form is important – but timing and mental state can be just as crucial.

A tournament with a clear game profile

Unlike many other tournaments, this is a week where certain player profiles stand out:

  • Players with precision over length
  • Players who are strong at approach and putting
  • Players who thrive on Pete Dye courses

Historically, you often see the same types of players appear high on the leaderboard here year after year.

Betting perspective – where does the value lie?

The RBC Heritage is a tournament where it is often possible to find value outside of the biggest names.

  • Favorites may be vulnerable after the Masters
  • “Course fit” players often give better odds
  • Placement (top 10/20/30) is often more playable than winning

This is a week where it pays to think a little differently than just following form and name.

Ready for the games

With a course that requires precision, a field characterized by Masters after-play and a clear game profile, everything is set for an interesting betting week.

Now it's about finding the right names.

Our recommendations are as follows:

Xander Schauffele – Top 10 (2.10).

Xander Schauffele continues to deliver at a high level this season, once again emerging as one of the most consistent players on tour. He is rarely spectacular, but all the more reliable – and it is precisely the kind of profile that often does well at Harbour Town.

This is a course that rewards control and precision over raw length, and Schauffele fits that profile very well. He is solid off the tee, strong on approach and makes few mistakes – which is crucial on a course where margins are small and penalties come quickly.

In addition, he is a player who handles those “post-major” weeks well. While many come back a little drained after the Masters, Schauffele is known for keeping his level up and delivering consistently.

From a betting perspective, this clearly points towards placement, and top 10 once again appears to be a very relevant bet. This is simply a player you can count on to deliver four solid rounds – and that often goes a long way at Harbour Town.

Viktor Hovland – Top 20 (2.15)

Viktor Hovland has looked increasingly better over time, and it seems that he is now seriously starting to find his way back to his peak level. The end of The Masters was particularly encouraging, where he delivered a strong Sunday round and played his way into the top 20.

The most important thing, however, is the signals he himself gives. Hovland has been clear that the game feels better than it has in a long time, and you can see that on the pitch. When the basic game is in place, he is one of the best ball strikers in the world – and that is a quality that fits well on a pitch like Harbour Town, where precision is key.

This is also the type of tournament where he can build on his form from Augusta. Less focus on length and more on control could play to his advantage, especially as his confidence is building again.

From a gaming perspective, top 20 seems like a natural choice. With the development he's showing now, it also feels like it's only a matter of time before he's back up and fighting for wins again.

Patrick Cantlay - Top 10 (2.75)

Patrick Cantlay is a player that is impossible to miss at Harbour Town. Few – if any – have been more consistent here in recent years. With one playoff loss and four top 3 finishes, in addition to a string of top 15 results, he has been a regular at the top without actually winning.

His form looks solid heading into this year's tournament as well. He has delivered several top 15 finishes this season, including in his last two starts, and followed that up with a T12 at The Masters. This suggests that his level is where it should be.

His playing style also suits Harbour Town very well. Cantlay is methodical, precise and makes very few mistakes – exactly what is required on a course where patience and control are essential.

From a betting perspective, this is one of the safest candidates in the field. The question is not whether he is in – but whether he finally manages to take the step up. Regardless, he appears to be a very solid play in the placement markets, and the top 10 is hard to avoid.

Cameron Young - Top 5 (4.00)

Cameron Young enters the RBC Heritage with a lot of confidence after a very strong period. After a quiet start to the season, things have really picked up, with a victory in the Players Championship and no results worse than the top 7 in his last four starts.

He also followed up with an impressive performance at The Masters, where he was among the very top players and ultimately finished in a shared 3rd place after sharing the lead before the final round. It confirms that the level is there – and that he is comfortable in the biggest tournaments.

While Harbour Town is not necessarily a typical “power course”, Young has already shown that he can handle it well. In his debut here in 2022, he delivered a strong 3rd place, which suggests that his game also works well on a more technical course.

With the form he is in now, he appears to be one of the hottest players in the field. From a game perspective, this points towards both the top 10 and top 20, and he is also a player that is natural to consider higher up the list if you want a little more risk. We are taking the chance, because we really believe in Young this weekend.

Chris Gotterup - Top 20 (2.30)

Chris Gotterup has been one of the very best players so far this season, and it's hard to overlook the level of performance he has delivered over time. His results have been consistently strong, and he has established himself as a player to be reckoned with week after week.

Although Harbour Town has different demands than many of the tournaments he has performed in, his form is so good that it is still natural to have expectations. Players in flow often find ways to score, even on courts that are not necessarily a perfect match on paper.

Gotterup has shown that he can consistently deliver at a high level, and that is precisely what makes him interesting this week. Although the upside may be a little more uncertain than with some others, he appears to be a solid candidate in the placement markets.

Top 20 stands out as a natural play, especially considering the form he brings into the tournament.

Summary – a week for the precise

The RBC Heritage is a tournament that stands out a bit, and that is reflected in the games. This is not the week where you are necessarily looking for the biggest names or the longest drivers, but rather the players who are in flow and have a game that suits the course.

The common denominator for this week's picks is just that – consistency, precision and form. Several of the players are coming off strong performances, including at The Masters, and bring both confidence and momentum into a tournament that often rewards just that. At the same time, this is a course where experience and control weigh heavily, which means that the games are more about placement than hitting a winner.

There is therefore a lot of potential for an even and close tournament, where the small margins are decisive. And as is often the case at Harbour Town, it is often those who make the fewest mistakes – not necessarily those who do the most spectacular – who come out on top in the end.
