Analysis of:
New York Giants - San Francisco 49ers 02.10.25

Written by: Arve

Analysis Information
MetLife Stadium is home to the San Francisco 49ers, and while most would point to the visitors as the favorites, it's the New York Giants who come in with the most exciting offense. They've scored in four straight games and have been far more entertaining than expected since Jaxson Dart took over at quarterback.
At the same time, the 49ers come with a defense that is far from its best. Several key players are out, and without pressure from the pass rush, this could quickly become a night where the Giants get exactly the working conditions they want.
New York Giants – fresh offense, even with injuries
The Giants lost Cam Skattebo last week, but that hasn't stopped his production. Dart has given the offense speed, mobility and confidence. He creates plays with his feet, but he's also mature in the passing game.
Just look at the games against the Broncos and Eagles earlier in the season: 30+ points in both. And even against Philadelphia last time out – in a game where the Giants actually played poorly – Dart managed to drive four scoring drives.
It's a hallmark of a team that doesn't rely on a single weapon. Even without Skattebo, there are enough playmakers left to move the ball, and the plan is clear: high tempo, quick throws, no fear of attacking deep.
San Francisco 49ers – big name, weak form
The 49ers are usually associated with a rock-solid defense. But right now, it's a completely different picture.
Nick Bosa, Fred Warner and Bryce Huff have all been out, and without them, the 49ers have looked surprisingly vulnerable.
They are at the bottom of the NFL when it comes to putting pressure on the quarterback. We saw that clearly last week when even a Texans team without their best receiver did whatever they wanted offensively.
When a defense doesn't get pressure on the QB, everything gets harder: receivers get more time, play-action penalties, and mobile quarterbacks, like Dart, get the option to run or throw. That's bad news for San Francisco.
Conclusion
The Giants have already shown they can score on bad days, and on good days they can be really explosive. They face a 49ers team that lacks its identity defensively, and when the pressure doesn't come, the Giants will get the opportunities they need to get over the line.
22 points is not much for a team that has flow on offense and has found ways to produce even when things aren't going perfectly.
