A Nashville SC team in great form and a CF Montréal team still searching for anything resembling a plan. At Geodis Park, visitors rarely get anything for free, and Nashville has shown they know how to exploit home-field advantage. For Montréal, it's mostly about avoiding another football lesson on the road.

Nashville SC: Home field advantage must be exploited again

Nashville has opened the 2025 season in style and looks to be just as solid as we know them to be. After a goalless start against New England, they have come back with two straight wins – first a controlled 2-0 win over the Portland Timbers, and then a convincing 3-1 triumph over the Philadelphia Union. In short: This looks like a team that intends to make Geodis Park a party venue for their home fans.

Much of the offensive spark comes from Hany Mukhtar, the team's tireless playmaker, who continues to be the mastermind behind most of what happens going forward. Ahmed Qasem has also been a revelation, with two goals already, and could easily be the man to slow down a Montreal defense that looks like it could have had a couple of extra weeks of training in the preseason.

But it's not just the offense that has delivered. Defensively, Nashville has been rock solid, with only one goal conceded in three games. When you combine an organized back four with an offense that has started to find the back of the net, you have a dangerous combination.

CF Montréal: Can someone find the goal, please?

For Montreal, 2025 has started about as cheerfully as a rainy day in November. Four games have yielded one point, and they have yet to score a single goal from open play since the first round. Three straight losses to Atlanta United, Minnesota United and the Vancouver Whitecaps, before a goalless affair against DC United – this team doesn't exactly smell like fireworks.

Prince-Osei Owusu has been the closest thing Montreal has come to a threat, but he's largely had to do the job alone. The team that had some entertainment value last year has suddenly lost both creativity and breakthrough power. It simply looks like someone has pulled the plug on the offensive game.

Defensively, there is nothing to brag about either. Six goals conceded in four games is evidence of a team that not only struggles to score, but also has a tendency to give up goals at times and times. When they also face a Nashville team that has found its footing, this could easily be another night where they go home with their tails between their legs.

Conclusion: Nashville is too strong at home

Nashville hasn't just had a good start – they've been consistent, efficient and know how to decide games. Montreal, on the other hand, looks like a team without direction, and facing a solid home team on a difficult away field is hardly what they need right now.

Everything suggests that Nashville will control this game from start to finish. They have in-form scorers, a defense that doesn't give up unnecessary chances, and a home court where they rarely let their opponents in. Montreal will have to overperform to get anything, but with what they've shown so far this season, it's hard to see that happening.

Bet suggestions

MLS at 01:30 – Nashville SC – CF Montréal: Nashville over 1.5 goals (1.62)

Alternative game:

MLS at 01:30 – Nashville SC – CF Montréal: H/H (2.55)

This will be a test of how far Montreal is from where they should be, and Nashville has all the makings to capitalize on the visitors' problems. We believe the hosts will continue to deliver and the goals will come – at least for the home team.
