Analysis of:
Molde – Rosenborg 01.11.25

Analysis Information
There are ordinary matches, there are important matches and then there is Molde against Rosenborg. This is not three points. This is identity, history, hatred, irritation and eternal rivalry. It is the match where the audience shows up with pulse and expectations, and where the players are told: this must be won - at any cost.
And as if that wasn't enough: now Molde are facing a real risk of relegation. They could actually end up in the qualification place if the autumn continues as badly as it has been. So if there is a time when they MUST deliver, it is now and against Rosenborg.
Molde – nothing is free this year
Usually Aker Stadion is a fortress. This year it has been a house without a lock.
Recently, Molde lost 1–3 at home to Sandefjord, and it was no longer a shock – it was almost expected. Several teams have left Molde with points in their pockets this season, and defensively, MFK has been miles away from their standard. Far too easy at the back, poor structure, stress in their own back room, the list is long.
But they still have one thing: goals in their legs.
Molde creates chances in almost every match, and offensively there is still quality. And against Rosenborg it tends to loosen up. In fact, only 3 of the last 10 mutual matches between the teams have ended with under 2.5 goals and without both teams scoring. This match lives its own life and it never gets boring.
Rosenborg – leaky at the back, dangerous up front
Rosenborg come to Molde with anything but ballet in their legs.
They have 7 straight matches without a clean sheet, and it's not because the margins have gone against them – it's because they miss opportunities in every single match.
But RBK has one weapon that Molde hates to face: transitions.
When Molde stands tall, when the crowd pushes the tempo and the match becomes open, Rosenborg gets space. That's exactly why RBK has taken points from Molde in the last six meetings. They have pace going forward, they don't need to dominate the match to score, and this match tends to explode at both ends of the pitch.
The battle scene – electric and purposeful
This is a hate match.
These are two teams with weak defensive form.
These are two teams that MUST advance.
Molde must win to avoid relegation drama.
Rosenborg must score because they never keep a clean sheet.
Add 12–14,000 at Aker Stadion, hatred in the stands, a glowing atmosphere, and a Molde team that is told to attack from the start, and the match picture presents itself:
- high pace
- room back
- chances both ways
- goal
This is the match that rarely ends 0–0, and which almost always gives us drama.
