Analysis of:
Bournemouth - Brentford 15-03-25

Written by: Arve

Analysis Information
Two teams that have both impressed throughout the season now have an ever-so-small break. The home team is winless in their last three, while Brentford has one point in their last two matches. The season is in the important phase where they will cement their position, and for Bournemouth in particular, it could still end with a bang. With 44 points, they are three poor points behind Manchester City in fifth place. It is clear that there is a lot at stake this Saturday, and against an entertaining Brentford we can get a fun football match from the Vitality Stadium.
Bournemouth – Lots of talent, but still a number too small?
Bournemouth are a great team to watch play football. There are a lot of players who work well together, there are several great performances, and there is some really great talent in this team. We have mentioned Justin Kluivert in nice terms a few times, and rightly so. He had a period in January where he both scored and served his teammates week in and week out, as if it were the biggest thing in the world. His form may have stagnated somewhat in recent weeks, but his qualities are constantly emerging again. The Dutchman was back as a waiter in the 2-2 draw against Spurs, while he was Bournemouth's only goal scorer in the 1-2 loss to Brighton the previous round.
Bournemouth must find some stability again now. Two goals against in the last two makes the road to three points unnecessarily long. The goal difference reads 47-34, and as mentioned at the beginning there are only three points left to go. With teams like Aston Villa, Brighton, Newcastle and Manchester City standing in the way of the Champions League dream, they have a job to do. But don't get me wrong, Bournemouth has the opportunity. The aforementioned teams are all terribly unstable, so if they find form during the last ten rounds, anything is possible. We are, however, somewhat concerned about the number of goals scored in the latter period, and fear on behalf of the home team that new net-knowing players will come the wrong way in the face of Wissa and Mbuemo. Note that the team was very creative away against Tottenham last weekend. An xG of 2.74 on the small side, 17 shots, eight of them on goal, and two net whizzes. Things happen when Bournemouth enters the grass.
Brentford – The team that is impossible to predict
Because if things always happen when Bournemouth play football, then at least that's the case for Brentford! 48 goals scored, 44 conceded. Eleven wins, twelve losses. It hasn't worked out for Brentford on their own turf in recent times, but interestingly enough, the last two away games have been won. For a while, it almost looked as if the home team could get involved in something really big, but that has gone a bit off track. At the time of writing, the team is in twelfth place, and in terms of points, they are a bit of a no-man's land. That said, it probably won't take more than two or three wins before they start dreaming the big dreams again, but it seems more and more like that at the moment - a dream.
What worked so well in the last away game in the league must be replicated on Saturday. We went to Leicester and took charge early. Of course, there are two very different bowls, playing away against Leicester in 2025, versus facing Kluivert and Semenyo. However, we must still try to recreate the mindset. Brentford exploded in attack, leading 3-0 after 32 minutes. It was led by the regular guys, the ones who are always a handful, and it is these guys that we must rely on again. Brentford is probably at that point in the season where every game is an opportunity to shine, to create something, without losing, which we interpret as meaning that it can lead to some open and fun football games. We will not be shocked if Brentford gets on the scoresheet on Saturday, maybe once or twice.
Conclusion – Two high goal averages, and some generous guests
We have landed on what we consider to be the highest probability of a winning bet, while of course we want to get something back for the money we play with. Betting tips are a tricky thing, a constant balancing act between risk and return. We want enough risk to make it worth the time we put into it, but at the same time not to get in over our heads. Then statistics can be a good source of information that steers us safely to the right place. We know that both of these two score a lot. We know that the away team concedes too much, while we have a feeling that Brentford will let loose going forward. We also know that the last three games between these two have been goal-rich. The game this winter ended 3-2 to Brentford, the match in May 2-1 to Brentford, while the match before that again ended in a draw, 2-2. It fits in with this year's season, and what we see for ourselves. Bournemouth will have to dream a little more, and will then go for these three points, while we see some attacking guests.
We land on the bet that would have gone into the last three matches, namely goals both ways, and at least three in the number. It is difficult to predict the winner, but a gun to the head would have been a home win. If you are feeling daring, you can try a Bournemouth win in combination with goals for both teams
England at 18:30: Bournemouth - Brentford: Both teams score + Over 2.5 goals (1.74)
Alternative bet
England at 18:30: Bournemouth – Brentford: Bournemouth to score in both halves (2.15)
