Analysis of:
Barcelona – Inter 30-04-25

Analysis Information
Two teams with very different histories meet at the Olímpic Lluís Companys. Barcelona are roaring on after securing the Copa del Rey, consolidating their lead in La Liga and dominating at home in the Champions League. Hansi Flick has breathed new life into a team that now plays both entertaining and effective football.
Inter? They've hit the wall.
A few weeks ago they were on track for both league gold and the cup final, but now they are clinging on after brutal losses, a lack of form and increasing doubt in the ranks.
Barcelona – A machine at full speed
At home in the Champions League, Barcelona have been a fearsome machine. Five wins and one draw in six games, 21 goals scored and only four conceded tell of a club that has finally found its balance again. Even without Lewandowski at the top, Barcelona have retained their offensive power.
Raphinha tears up defences from the wings, Pedri controls the midfield with a maturity few can match, and Ferran Torres has found the back of the net just in time for the playoffs. Barcelona have scored in eleven of their twelve Champions League games this season and thrive when they can press their opponents back, force mistakes – and punish them mercilessly.
Inter – The numbers don't hold up in the storm that awaits
In isolation, Inter's Champions League statistics have been impressive: five goals from behind in ten games and eight clean sheets.
But the past few weeks have revealed a different reality.
0–3 at home against Milan in the cup.
0–1 at home against Roma in the series.
Three straight games without a goal.
The injuries to Benjamin Pavard and Marcus Thuram hurt, but the mental breakdown is almost more serious. This Inter team looks more like a collective that fears defeat than a team that believes in its own possibilities. Facing a Barcelona that oozes self-confidence, in a stadium that becomes a witch's cauldron on such occasions, is like facing a storm in an open boat.
Barcelona can take action early and never let go
We expect Barcelona to set the standard from the first kick of the ball. With pace, movement and precision, they will force Inter back, and the question is really just how long the Italians can hold back. Form, home advantage and mental state all speak in Barcelona's favour.
Inter will certainly try to lie low and frustrate, but the way they appear now, it's a match they could easily end up defending until they see stars under Barcelona's night sky.
Anything other than a solid home win would be a big surprise.
