Analysis Information
It's easy to forget amidst all the stardust, but the fact that Aston Villa are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League is a small footballing miracle in itself. The club, which only a few years ago was struggling in the Championship, has taken giant steps under Unai Emery - and along the way they have beaten Bayern Munich and Inter, among others. Villa may have a mountain to climb against PSG tonight, but no one can say they haven't risen.
At the same time, this is perhaps the first time in a long time that Paris Saint-Germain actually looks like a team. Not just a collection of superstars, but a structured, close-knit unit that wins games with system and discipline – not just individual performances. Under Luis Enrique, it seems like the circus is about to quiet down, and it is finally starting to look like something that can go all the way.
Aston Villa – No one should say they don't have heart
Last week's first leg in Paris was a reminder of the difference between efficiency and raw talent. Villa defended heroically for much of the game, even taking the lead through Morgan Rogers after 35 minutes – against the run of play, but for a moment a living hope. Then came Doué's gem. Then Kvaratskhelia. And finally Nuno Mendes. 3–1, and suddenly the task became enormous.
But Villa have shown time and again that they love to be underestimated. They have beaten Bayern Munich themselves at home at Villa Park, and they are unbeaten on home turf in the Champions League this season. With Watkins back from injury and Emery on the sidelines, the possibility of them making this exciting should not be discounted.
PSG – Finally something real
PSG have often been defined by their stars – and the scandals surrounding them. But this team seems to have found balance. Luis Enrique has brought order to the ranks, and instead of the team collapsing in the face of adversity, they now appear cohesive and solid.
They were brilliant against Villa last time out – 29 shots, 75% possession, total control. They are well placed in the league, ready for the cup final, and have stepped up several of their X-factors: Kvaratskhelia is electric, Doué is explosive, and Dembélé in a new role centrally has given the attack several teams.
PSG have often been favorites – but now they are starting to act like it too.
Conclusion – Villa needs hope, PSG needs control
We are facing a classic second leg where one team has to chase and the other can be a little lower and punish on transitions. Aston Villa have been strong at home throughout the tournament and will throw everything forward to catch up. That will give chances, that will give energy – and probably also goals.
At the same time, PSG is anything but a weak counterattacking team. When Villa opens up, there will be space at the back – and with players like Kvaratskhelia, Dembélé and Doué, it goes without saying that the Paris team will have opportunities to make their mark on the match.
Therefore, everything points to a match with goals at both ends – and if PSG is content to control the second half, it is not inconceivable that it will all end in a draw that both teams can live with, in their own way.

Villa must score, PSG will have chances. This is the safest starting point in a match where both teams have offensive weapons and incentive to attack.

Champions League 9:00 PM: Aston Villa – PSG: Both teams to score & Draw (4.47)
If it's 1-1 or 2-2 with 10-15 minutes left, we think PSG will be comfortable controlling it - and Villa could run into the wall.
