Philadelphia Union – Los Angeles Galaxy 05/15/25

Analysis Information
It's rare to see such a stark contrast in MLS as we've seen here. On one side is an in-form Philadelphia Union, unbeaten in their last five games and with their spark back. On the other: an LA Galaxy in complete collapse, with stars out and zero points in their last four. An MLS shock could always come out of nowhere – but there's nothing in form, statistics or squad news to suggest that here.
Philadelphia Union: At home, they are suddenly reliable again
After a slow start to the season, Jim Curtin's men have come alive. They are now on a five-game unbeaten run – three of which have ended in wins – and at home at Subaru Park they have really got things going. Zero goals in their last three matches speak for themselves.
Union has found a good mix of experience and youthful punch, with Tai Baribo as the top scorer and players like Quinn Sullivan and Kai Wagner consistently providing assists. In Blake's absence in goal, the reserves have delivered the goods - and defensively, things look safer than they have in a long time.
LA Galaxy: When it rains, it pours
LA Galaxy may have the biggest name in MLS, but their 2025 performance has been anything but stellar. The club is bottom of the Western Conference and has yet to win a single game. And to top it all off, Riqui Puig, Gabriel Pec and Joseph Paintsil – their three most important offensive cards – are all out with injuries.
The losses have come in ugly numbers: 0–7 (!) against the Red Bulls, 1–4 against New England, 0–3 against Dallas. This is not just a team out of shape – it's a team without direction, without an engine and now also without fuel.
Conclusion and betting suggestions
Philadelphia has everything that the Galaxy lacks: momentum, confidence, breadth in the squad and home advantage. When the Galaxy also lacks all creative power, it is difficult to imagine anything other than three new points for the home team. That there will be at least two goals in the match? It is almost just a formality in MLS, where even friendly matches often end 3–2.
