Who is Viktor Dadason: Copenhagen's and Iceland's greatest talent?

In Copenhagen, a young Icelander runs around and towers over the rest of the players. 17 years old and 193 centimeters tall. Viktor Dadason came to Denmark from Fram Reykjavik in 2024, and has made huge strides in development in record time. He now plays regularly in the Champions League for FC Copenhagen.

And there he has already written his name into the history books.
Because in his very first Champions League match he scored his first goal against Borussia Dortmund. That made him the third youngest goalscorer in the tournament's history.

But he didn't stop there.
In the match between FC Copenhagen and Kairat Almaty he scored again, with his head. And that makes him the youngest player ever to score in two different Champions League matches. A record he took from Lamine Yamal himself.

But who is Viktor Dadason?

So who is he really, this tall teenager with a sense of purpose and a head that both thinks and scores goals?

Viktor Bjarki Dadason is not only tall. He is also fast. And he has the kind of eye for goal that cannot be taught, it is instinctive. He came to Copenhagen from Fram Reykjavik, a club in the Icelandic capital, where he made his debut for the first team at the age of 15. Even then it was clear: he was not like the others.

The talent was obvious

In the summer of 2024 he signed for FC Copenhagen. He started in the youth teams, but it wasn't long before he was knocking on the door of the A-team. He trained with the first team and was devastating in U19 matches. Scored in the Youth League, scored in the league. Almost every time he got the chance.

A striker with weight

Daðason is a classic number nine. Tall, strong and poisonous in front of goal. But he is not heavy on his legs. He moves easily. Positions correctly. And has a cynicism in the box that makes him dangerous, even against adult defenders. The coaches describe him as willing to learn. He meets early, listens, works. And scores.

He has that little extra

People around the team describe him as humble. Not the type to shout loudly. He does his job quietly – but when he gets the ball, it makes noise. The header against Kairat was not accidental. It was timing. A look. And self-confidence.

From Reykjavik to the Park

He has Iceland in his blood and ambition in his eyes. He dreams big, but stands with his feet firmly planted. When you see him standing in the Park with his arms in the air after yet another goal, it's almost hard to believe that he's only 17 years old. But maybe that's exactly what makes him so special.
