Hokkaido Jiel with peel victory
Hokkaido Jiel was one of the surprises of the time in the Prix d'Amerique 2026. After a race marked by frequent changes of leader and drama in the lead, Franck Nivard found an opening along the inside track on the run. There, the outsider slipped past the entire field and narrowly won at odds of 37, and a winning time of 11.4 over the distance of 2700 meters volte. Favorite Josh Power took second place, while one of Sweden's hopes, Epic Kronos, was third. Harmony du Rabutin was initially fifth, but was disqualified for an incorrect gait on the run, and Just Love You was thus fifth.
