OBOS League 2025 – complete season summary

When the dust settles after 30 rounds, the table paints a clear picture: Lillestrøm delivered exactly what was expected – and perhaps more. LSK won the league with an impressive 80 points, divided into 25 wins, 5 draws and 0 losses. The goal difference of 87–18 speaks for itself – a whopping +69 goals testify to total dominance.

Behind Lillestrøm, Start took second place with 55 points, closely followed by Kongsvinger on 54. In the last round of the series, things fell apart for KIL, who ruined their promotion chances away to Åsane. This forced them into a dramatic qualifying game – where they ultimately lost to Aalesund, who finished fourth in this year's OBOS league.

The table, however, only tells part of the story. The season also offered drama, surprises and several significant disappointments.

This year's surprises: Egersund and Start

One of the most positive stories of 2025 was undoubtedly Egersund's breakthrough. Few – including us at 90minutefamily.com – had them as a candidate for the top five before the start of the season. In our table tips, Egersund was all the way down in 11th place. The same was true for Start, who we had tipped for 10th place.

That turned out to be a solid underestimate.

Both teams worked their way up steadily throughout the season, delivering consistent and strong performances. Egersund eventually finished in an impressive 5th place with 52 points, while Start secured second place in the final round and advanced directly to the next round.

That these two teams stood their ground in such a tight and tough league speaks volumes about the quality of the squad, the coaching work and the club's management. It is undoubtedly one of the great sporting stories of the year.

This year's disappointments: When the tip misses – and the teams fail

Odd: A gap year without direction

Odd delivered a season that could be described as stable at best – and disappointing at worst.
With 33 points and a 9th place finish, the team comfortably stayed out of the relegation zone, but they were never close to fighting for a qualification spot either.

8 wins, 9 draws and 13 losses sum up a season that was even but not dangerous. For a team that often talks about ambitions to climb, 2025 was a clear mid-year. Odd delivered below expectations and emerged as one of the disappointments of the year compared to our pre-match tip.

Moss: From promotion chase to desperate survival

Moss delivered a far more dramatic season. After fighting for promotion to the Eliteserien the previous year, 2025 was a brutal reality check. The club finished in 14th place and had to go to the qualification to keep their place. There they delivered when it mattered most – and secured another OBOS year.

Moss was in the relegation battle for a long time. The performances were sometimes too weak, and although the team got a significant boost after Thomas Myhre left the club and a new coach took over, the squad eventually became too thin. The results were as follows.

The fact that Moss will remain an OBOS team in 2026 must still be said to be a positive surprise – given how dark it looked along the way. The end of the season saved the overall impression.

Conclusion

The OBOS league 2025 gave us a season that will be remembered for both dominance, breakthroughs and unexpected falls. Lillestrøm delivered one of the most solid performances the league has seen in several years and moved up in pure cruise control. At the same time, Start and Egersund emerged as the positive surprises of the year after surpassing all pre-tips with impressive stability and quality throughout the season.

On the opposite end of the scale, Odd and Moss delivered results far below expectations. Odd ended up in a gray middle tier without any clear progress, while Moss experienced a dramatic decline after last year's promotion battle – and only survived after qualifying.

The season is thus summed up as a mix of predictable top, surprising medal contention and several teams that received a brutally honest reminder of how even and demanding the OBOS league actually is. 2026 is already shaping up to be at least as exciting.
