Not for sale!

Mohamed Salah is on everyone's lips these days. The man who has been the outward image of Liverpool's fabulous success in recent years is now being referred to in negative terms. The great star from Egypt spoke to the assembled press after Liverpool's 3-3 draw against Leeds last weekend, and firmly stated that he was not a bench player. He simply did not like that. Salah claims that he has earned his permanent place throughout all those magical years, and that a few bad games here and there must be accepted. The relationship with Slot was also nothing to brag about. A moody top scorer in other words, and a man who felt he was made a scapegoat for the bad times.

Liverpool without Salah with a strong victory in Italy

Salah was left out of the Milan squad in midweek. Liverpool played a good game, and their only in-form player, Szoboszlai, secured three points from the chalk mark just before the end. Exactly what was needed, but perhaps not exactly what Salah personally needed. A team that performs without the quick-footed winger on the pitch makes a weaker case for guaranteed playing time there.

Salah back in the heat at home against Brighton?

This weekend Liverpool will face Brighton. A team Salah thrives against, and which will now be extremely interesting to follow. Because, what does Slot do? You can hardly find a more exciting team selection this season. If the right winger is to be found in the starting lineup, this may blow over. However, if last year's top scorer has to take a position on the bench again, additional amounts of fuel will be poured on the fire. All eyes will be on Liverpool this Saturday.

Liverpool want to keep their top scorer

Liverpool are reporting that the Egyptian is not for sale. Clear and obvious. For a man with a wounded ego, it may be good to hear. Because, Salah can still do it. The man with the magic feet has not expired over the summer, and he, who was the blue number four during the last Ballon d'Or ceremony, is probably itching to strike back. We dare not bet against it. The first blow will therefore be to start against Brighton, and of course, score in front of the Kop!
