Women – Mizuno League Saturday, February 14

TIF VIKING – Volda

Match time at 12:00

TIF Viking returned from Oslo with three important points after a comfortable 3–0 win against Oslo Volley last weekend. However, the joy was short-lived, as the team later had a tough time against Koll and lost clearly 3–0. Thus, the Bergen team lost the opportunity to have everything in their own hands in the fight for the Mizuno League gold this season.

At the same time, the competition for the top two – which gives a direct place in the Final Four – is fierce this year. This means that every single match in the coming month will be crucial for TIF Viking. After the heavy loss against Koll, one must expect a very revenge-hungry Viking team when they now try to secure a victory against Volda at home.

Volda is currently second to last in the table, four points behind last-place NTNUI. At the same time, Volda has played two fewer games, and on the women's side of the Mizuno League, it is extremely even in the middle of the table. In fact, only one point separates Volda from a playoff spot.

And although they are often underdogs, Volda have shown several times that they can surprise against the top teams. Without pressure on their shoulders, they could easily be a difficult opponent this time too.

Match rating

Can TIF Viking get revenge after they were crushed 0–3 by Koll in their previous match? Here you can expect a TIF Viking team that goes out with high intensity and shows why they still have a small chance of winning this year's Mizuno League.

Viking will likely push hard from the start with aggressive serving and a high tempo in their attacking play, while also wanting to set the standard early in front of their home crowd.

For Volda, it's about keeping their shoulders down, playing their own game without pressure, trusting their teammates and taking advantage of the opportunities that arise. They have previously shown that they can challenge strong teams when they get the flow of the game, and I think they will get their chances in this match as well.

Still, I think in the end it will only take one set for Volda against a revenge-hungry TIF Viking.

Prediction: TIF Viking wins 3-1

Forde – Koll

Match time at 1:00 PM

Norwegian champions Førde face a very in-form Koll team in this weekend's big match. Førde is coming off a heavy loss last weekend in Øksneshallen against ØKSIL. They took the first set, but ended up losing 3–1.

For Førde, this is a key match in the gold medal race. The team is six points behind league leader Koll, and considering their ambitions to win this year's Mizuno League, this is in practice a real "six-point match".

Koll, on the other hand, enters the match with great confidence. They have only lost two games this season and delivered a strong performance when they crushed TIF Viking last weekend. Everything is therefore in place for a high-flying Koll team that is chasing the league title with great intensity.

Match rating

This is the weekend's big match on the women's side in the Mizuno League. The newly-crowned Norwegian champions from Førde will be visited by a high-flying Koll team that has delivered very strong performances so far in 2026.

It looks like a high-quality volleyball match, with aggressive serving, solid blocking and good defensive work from both teams. Førde will take advantage of the home court advantage and their structured attacking game, while Koll comes with great confidence, high tempo and good flow in the game after several strong results recently.

I expect an even and intense match with long rallies and small margins that decide. Nevertheless, I think Koll will ultimately come away with the victory in a thriller of a match, where they decide 16–14 in the decisive fifth set.

Prediction: Koll wins 3-2

Randaberg – Oslo Volleyball

Match time at 14:00
Randaberg has started to find its form again after several players have returned from injury. Since Wilde Jakobsen returned, the team has looked much better and delivered good performances in recent matches. Thus, the relegation spectre is about to disappear, and the team can instead focus on securing a safe place in the playoffs.

Oslo Volley is still looking for its first win of 2026 after three straight losses. They are also in the hunt for a playoff spot, especially considering that Volda is only one point behind – while Oslo Volley has played one more game. This makes the Stavanger trip very important for Oslo Volley. They should bring at least four points home to the capital to once again be more secure in the fight for a playoff spot.

Match rating

Here we get a matchup between two teams with different forms. Randaberg has really found their rhythm lately and appears to be a team in good shape, while Oslo Volley is in a tough period with several losses in a row.

It doesn't look particularly promising for Oslo Volley heading into this match either. Randaberg has performed very well at home this season, where they play with high intensity, solid defense and good stability in the attack. With the form they have shown in recent months, one must also assume that they are very motivated to continue the positive development.

Still, I think Oslo Volley can manage to get points from the match. They have quality in the team and will be desperate to turn the negative trend around. This could easily become an even match that goes to five sets, and in such a situation, it is often small margins that decide who ultimately runs away with the victory.

Prediction: Randaberg wins 3-2

Axe – NTNUI

Match time at 2:30 PM

ØKSIL have been unstoppable at home this season. All the teams that make the trip north know that they will face a fantastic home crowd that creates such a good atmosphere that the away teams can easily be put out. Thus, ØKSIL once again goes into a home game as big favorites, and they need a win to keep alive their hopes of a top two place in this year's Mizuno League.

NTNUI, on the other hand, seems to be heading towards relegation from the Mizuno League. They will have to overperform in the away match against ØKSIL to get points. In addition, they have tough matches left, with a double match against TIF Viking and an away match against Førde. It is difficult to see any other outcome than relegation for NTNUI.

Match rating

I can't see any alternatives where NTNUI takes home points from Øksneshallen. I think we'll see a fired-up ØKSIL team that goes all out to impress the home crowd, and NTNUI will have to struggle against that.

Especially if ØKSIL hits the serve, this could be a very tough match for NTNUI.

Prediction: Øksil wins 3-0

Men - Mizuno League Saturday 14 February

Forde – Koll

Match time: 4:00 PM

After Førde lost 0–3 to BK Tromsø in the cup final earlier this year, the team has bounced back strongly and delivered several good performances. They have impressed in away matches against both TIF Viking and on the long trip north against ØKSIL. In the latter match, Førde ended up 1–0 down in the set, but showed strength by turning the match around and winning 3–1.
The good form means that Førde now tops the Mizuno League, two points ahead of BK Tromsø with the same number of matches played. The team appears solid both offensively and defensively, and has shown good ability to handle pressure in even matches.

Now they face a Koll team that has also shown good form recently. Koll has won three of its four matches in 2026. The only loss came against the newly crowned Norwegian champions BK Tromsø at home, in a match where they were down 0–2 in the set, fought back to 2–2, but ultimately lost in the fifth set.

Koll must win this match and preferably take the full pot with three points if they are to keep alive their hopes of a top two finish, which gives them a direct place in the Final Four. It is therefore set for an intense and even match between two teams in good form.

Match rating

Will we once again get a thriller of a five-setter between Førde and Koll, as we saw in the semi-final of the cup? These are two teams in good form that meet, and I expect an even volleyball match where small margins will be decisive.
I am excited about which team Koll will field in this match. We know that they sometimes lack some of the first-team players when they play away games, and if that happens here too, it will be a clear advantage for Førde. Førde are favorites regardless of which team Koll fields. They are also looking for revenge after the cup final loss against BK Tromsø, and are working hard to win the Mizuno League ahead of Tromsø.

Prediction: Førde wins 3-1

Randaberg – OSI

Match time at 16:30

Randaberg have proven to be very strong at home this season, and the combination of their own fans and good performances has paid off in the Mizuno League. They have won four of their five home games so far and appear to be a team with growing confidence. After a weaker period earlier in the season, the team has raised their level, especially in their own play and the consistency in the matches, which makes them difficult to face at home.

OSI was originally supposed to play TIF Viking last weekend, but the match was canceled after TIF Viking's morning flight was canceled. However, for OSI, the situation in the table looks demanding. The team is a full eight points behind the place above them, and relegation seems increasingly likely.

This means OSI can enter this weekend's doubleheader in Stavanger with low shoulders and little pressure. At the same time, this is precisely what makes them dangerous - without expectations, the team can play more freely and try to create surprises against stronger opposition.

Match rating

Here, Randaberg is expected to take control of the match from the first serve and dominate the exchanges with solid blocking and defense. OSI will probably have to be patient and stick to their own game, without starting to look for alternative solutions to stop a high-flying Randaberg team.

History shows that Randaberg can sometimes ruin sets and matches if they lower their standards. However, I don't think that will happen in this match, especially considering Randaberg's strong home form.

Prediction: Randaberg wins 3-1

Øksil – BK Tromsø – Battle for Northern Norway

Match time at 17:00

ØKSIL is currently in the last playoff spot and has everything in their own hands to keep it. This means they can enter this match for Northern Norway with relatively low shoulders, especially since they have also played fewer games than several of the teams around them in the table. At home in Øksneshallen, ØKSIL has been strong this season, and one can once again expect the supporters to turn out and create a fantastic atmosphere around the match.

ØKSIL's form has been solid recently, especially at home, where they play with great intensity and pace. The team has shown good structure in their game and been difficult to break down, which has given them important points in the fight for a playoff spot.

BK Tromsø, on the other hand, has had two weekends off and has probably been able to recharge their batteries after a hectic January, which was crowned with a cup triumph. The Tromsø team has delivered consistently throughout the season and appears to be one of the clear gold contenders.

They are still in the fight for the Mizuno League title and are only two points behind Førde with the same number of games played. This means BK Tromsø are entering an exciting period of the season, where they still have the opportunity to secure a treble if the results go their way. The form seems good, and with new energy after the break, the team is expected to come out with high intensity in the crucial games that lie ahead.

Match rating

Saturday, February 14th, is the day for a hot Northern Norwegian derby in Øksneshallen. Here, the audience can expect high intensity, long and spectacular exchanges of balls, players who give their all in every duel – and an engaged home crowd that sets the mood from the first point. In such matches, every point means a little more than usual.

BK Tromsø has probably spent the last two weeks well preparing for this northern Norwegian match, while ØKSIL has hardly been idle. Everything points to an energetic and dramatic volleyball match in the Mizuno League, and it is not inconceivable that the match could go all the way to five sets considering ØKSIL's strong home form.

I think we will have close and even sets, but that BK Tromsø will ultimately decide the decisive points. At the same time, ØKSIL can take at least one set from the match.

Prediction: BK Tromsø wins 3-1
