Last round of La Liga 2025/26

The 2025/26 La Liga will be decided in the final round of the season. Everything is at stake here, from relegation drama and the hunt for Europe to the battle for third place between Villarreal and Atletico Madrid.

There's something special about the final round of La Liga. No other league feels quite like this when everything is about to be decided. Ten stadiums. Ten different stories. Ten different forms of desperation.

In some places, they are already singing about Europe. In others, it is all about survival. And in the midst of the chaos, the supporters are left with the same feeling: that everything can change in a single moment.

This is the night where mobile phones never leave the hands. Where cheers are suddenly broken by silence because another team has scored in another city. Where the stands start to react before the players even know what has happened. A goal in Vigo can send a team out of Europe. A goal in Mallorca can save an entire club from relegation. A late equaliser in Girona can rip the hearts out of thousands of people in a few seconds.

That's the beautiful and brutal thing about the final round of La Liga: no one can hide anymore.

Barcelona has already won La Liga after a season that will be remembered for a long time. 94 points. 94 goals. Complete dominance. Real Madrid has to settle for second place. But even though the gold medal game is over, the rest of the league is more alive than ever.

Villarreal and Atletico Madrid are still fighting for third place. Celta Vigo are trying to hold on to their Europa League ticket. Rayo Vallecano are still dreaming of finishing high enough to sneak into Europe. And further down the table, nerves are completely out of control.

Girona is on the edge of the cliff. Mallorca is balancing between hope and disaster. Elche, Levante and Osasuna know that one bad night can ruin the whole season. Real Oviedo is already out of La Liga, but it is precisely such teams that are often the most dangerous in the last round of the league. They play without fear. Without pressure. With nothing to lose.

And while the supporters calculate tables, goal difference and head-to-head results in real time, the players will try to keep a cool head in the midst of total chaos.

In some places, the crowd will support the team from the first second. In other places, the nerves will spread like poison if the matches are locked. Because that's what makes these rounds so special: the matches don't exist in isolation. Everything is connected. Every goal sends shockwaves through the rest of the league.

If Girona scores early, nerves will explode in Mallorca.
If Levante takes the lead in Sevilla, the whole bottom line changes.
If Villarreal scores against Atletico, third place could be turned upside down before people have time to update the table.

And at the same time, there are those games that are about something other than the table. Real Madrid will finish at home at the Bernabéu with dignity. Barcelona will show why they have been the league's best team by far. Valencia will try to spoil the party. Athletic Club is playing for pride. Sevilla is playing to salvage what little is left of a disappointing season.

This is the last evening before silence.

After this, the stadiums will be emptied. The lights will be turned off. The fans will enter a summer filled with transfers, rumors, new coaches and new dreams. But right now, only these 90 minutes exist.

Ninety minutes of panic.
Ninety minutes of hope.
Ninety minutes that decide who will celebrate and who will fall.
Ninety minutes of La Liga.

Celta Vigo – Sevilla

At Balaídos, Celta Vigo is expected to put up a massive fight against Sevilla. The home team knows that their Europa League spot is still up for grabs, and they are likely to attack from the start with high energy and aggressive pressure. Sevilla have had a tough season defensively and are allowing a lot of space, but at the same time they are a team that can punish imbalances on the counterattack. This feels like a match where Celta will dominate the territory, while the nerves will only grow if the goal is delayed.

Deportivo Alavés - Rayo Vallecano

In Vitoria, the atmosphere is completely different. This smells more of desperation than entertainment. The match can be physical and messy with many duels, a lot of stoppages in the game and enormous intensity. Rayo are difficult to break down, while Alavés know that one mistake can be decisive. It is the type of match where every free kick makes the crowd explode.

Espanyol – Real Sociedad

This could be one of the most open games in La Liga this round. Sociedad have scored far more goals this season, but they have also been incredibly vulnerable defensively. Espanyol at home will be attacking, and this looks like a game where both teams will actually try to win rather than control. It could provide a much higher tempo than many of the other matches.

Getafe – Osasuna

This looks like a classic last-round match with a slow pace, lots of physical play and extreme respect for the consequences of conceding first. Getafe have been among the league's most defensive teams all season, and Osasuna are unlikely to open up unnecessarily. This could be a match where one set piece or one mistake decides everything.

Girona–Elche

This is pure survival football. Girona is below the line and must advance. Elche is just above and knows that one point can be worth its weight in gold. Therefore, the whole picture of the match points to a home team that must take risks, press higher and chase scores, while Elche tries to kill the rhythm of the match and exploit the nerves. This could be the most emotional match of the evening. The longer the match remains even, the more desperate Girona will become.

Mallorca – Real Oviedo

Mallorca must win against an already relegated Oviedo team. On paper it sounds comfortable. In reality, such matches are often nightmares. The whole stadium will feel the nerves if Mallorca doesn't score early. Oviedo has nothing to lose, and such teams can suddenly play without fear. Mallorca will dominate the field, but the question is whether they can handle the pressure.

Real Betis – Levante

Here we have an interesting contrast. Real Betis have already secured the Champions League, while Levante are still fighting for survival. Betis will probably control much of the game with the ball, but Levante will play with enormous discipline. They don't need to be the best. They just need to survive. So this could be far more tactical than people expect.

Real Madrid – Athletic Club

This is mostly about finishing and pride. Madrid will give the Bernabéu a strong last home game in La Liga, while Athletic will try to salvage some glory after a weak season. The picture should be pretty clear: Real Madrid with the ball and pace, Athletic more physical and direct. Even without the golden game, such matches live a life of their own at the Bernabéu.

Valencia–Barcelona

This could be the most entertaining match of the evening. Barcelona are playing without pressure after crushing La Liga this season, and that often makes them even more dangerous. Valencia at home is not going to let up, and it could open up huge spaces either way. This feels more like a match where the crowd can sit back and enjoy the football, while the rest of the league burns around them.

Villarreal - Atletico Madrid

Finally, a direct battle for third place awaits. Both are tied on 69 points, and this will probably be a much more tactical affair than many expect. Atletico will try to control the rhythm and drag the game into its own lane, while Villarreal at home will have to balance risk and control. It smells of a close match that could explode only after the break.

And while all this is happening, all of Spain will be following the table, which is updated live every minute.

Some will celebrate Europe.
Some will celebrate survival.
Some will remain silent.

La Liga 2025/26 is entering its final night. Now only 90 minutes remain.
