Today's Double 01.06
My analysis
Vard Haugesund – Åsane 2: Vard Haugesund over 2.5 goals
At times this year, Vard has shown that they actually exist at a higher level. They were relegated, as is well known, and naturally have ambitions to climb back to PostNord at the first opportunity. That Os should be so good was probably a stretch in the calculation, but Vard beat Os 1-0 in the last training match before the season, so they just have to keep the pressure up and bet that the yellows stumble in the end.
But that means that matches like this should be won. Preferably with as many goals as possible, as goal difference can quickly become decisive in the end. Vard have been two very different teams at home and away this year, and at home at Imenco Arena they are 4-0-0 and a staggering 18-5 in goal difference. They have scored over 2.5 goals in all home matches, and even though Åsane is actually one of the stingiest teams in the division, Vard has scored three goals against better opposition than this. Among other things, they sent Brann 2 home with 3-0.
In addition, the match has an extra dimension. Vard is turning 110 this year, and the club has chosen this match to mark the anniversary. So here there will be a flagpole, a folk procession, music, ice cream for the kids and the club has gone to great lengths to get all the members to show up. This is Rogaland's largest club measured in members, so this could quickly be entertaining. And I'm guessing the guys on the pitch want to contribute where they can. Os have +16 goals, and Vard have +8, so they have no reason to stop if they first get ahead. We believe in a folk festival and goal celebration tomorrow.
KOLESIE – Lavked: KOLESIE wins
KOLESIE appears to be the most stable team in this matchup. Lavked can certainly do this consistently, but KOLESIE seems like the team with a few more paths to winning the series.
The most important thing here is that we don't need KOLESIE to win comfortably or 2–0. They can lose a map, have a slow start, or end up in a messy economy fight, and the game can still be a draw. Over a full BO3, KOLESIE should be better equipped to adjust along the way and pull the decisive rounds in their direction.
Lavked is not without chances, but the match picture points to KOLESIE having a higher basic level and a little better control over the series overall. Therefore, I think a KOLESIE victory is the most sensible bet here.
