The weekend kicks off with a real bottom-of-the-table clash between Western Sydney Wanderers and Newcastle Jets, where the battle for vital points could quickly make the teams risk more than they usually do. And we think everything is set for a goal celebration.

Western Sydney Wanderers

The ladies in red and black have had a rough start to the season, and the warning lights are flashing. They are at the bottom of the table with a 16-31 goal difference and a 1-0-4 record in their last five games. Something needs to happen soon for the Sydney team to climb up the table.

WSW are coming off an important win against Brisbane Roar which ended 2-1 in favour of the home team. Once again, young attacking talent, Sienna Saveska, was crucial to WSW's success, and with seven goals she is the team's top scorer by a wide margin. If there is anyone who is going to save the team from bottom place, it is Saveska.

The outcome of this match is difficult to predict, but the home team has a good chance of getting points. However; WSW has not kept a clean sheet in their last 17 matches. The team also averages 3.1 goals per match, but that is mostly due to the fact that they concede a lot of goals. I will not be surprised if the match ends with up to several goals for both teams.

Newcastle Jets

The away team is also unfortunately found far down the table. The guests can be found in 10th place, two places above the home team. Like WSW, the away team has not been able to do it this year. With a goal difference of 17-34 and a record of 0-1-4 in the last five games, the team has disappointed terribly. In fact, the Jets have not managed to keep a clean sheet in the last seven games. But they should aim to get something out of this.

Few things have impressed me about this team, but the striker Gallagher is perhaps the exception. She is capable of intimidating most of the centre-backs in the league, as she is a strong striker who is good at using her body in duels. Very few centre-backs in the league can match her physique. But behind her, the ranks are thin.

The statistics speak for themselves, the away team's defense is nothing to brag about. The team has conceded 34 goals in 15 games, and there is little indication that this game will be any different. With a porous defense and a strong striker, it is a hint to us that the only thing to bet on here is goals.

Bet suggestions

As this is a match between two teams that both need points, motivation must be emphasized. Both teams know that they desperately need all the points, and both teams know that they can take all the points. When we also know that both teams are struggling to keep a clean sheet, we can also expect there to be goals in the match.

Both teams to score

As mentioned above, neither team has kept a clean sheet in at least seven games. This in itself is reason enough to bet on BTS, I think. But we should also not forget that statistics are fresh, it only takes one more game to change the numbers. Both teams score gives 1.50, a little low, but within. A good game.

Overplay

Although the odds on BTS are playable, I think the odds on overbet are even better. This match probably won't end 1-1 if there are goals first. 2.5 goals in the match gives a nice 1.57 in odds. If there are goals early enough, both teams will probably continue to hunt for more to secure their three points. If you're extra bold, you can add BTS for slightly higher odds.

Conclusion

To summarize, here we have a match where both motivation and statistics support an overbet. Both of the aforementioned bets are likely to go in, but I choose to go for 2.5 goals in this match which has the highest odds. If you have made up your own mind after reading the analysis, there is nothing that pleases me more. Play what you have the most faith in. Good luck!
