V85 Kalmar January 24

An exciting V85 round with several open races, but also clear points of reference. 

V85-1

3 Ina Minute finished strongly again last time and still looks in top form. The Reldén brothers have probably sharpened her further in front of the home crowd, and she will probably be one of the most trusted in a race that is otherwise very open. If she stays clear, she is a natural part of the fight for victory. 1 MadisonSquare Kiss did a good job in the lead last time, but faced a far too strong competitor. Markus Waldmüller is riding himself this time and will probably try the same setup. The distance is on the long side, but if she can control the pace midway, she is a clear contender. 12 Billie Parker had a perfect race last time and certainly finished as the winner. She thrives over longer distances, but slot 12 makes the task more difficult, and she depends on pace to get there.

1 Son of My Father took the lead after 500 meters in the last and then had full control all the way in. American cart is on again, and if he defends the lead from the inside track behind the car, the chance of winning is good. 2 Unforgettable Tile delivered a strong third place in the last and appears to be a form-packed four-year-old with a perfect starting point in track 2. 8 Dual Communication did a solid race in second place in the last and shows good form. The track is slowing down a bit, but the capacity is high enough to win by a landslide. 5 Danville was back after the break in the last and delivered a good second place. With a race in his body, he is improved and an exciting outsider.

V85-3

5 A Fair Day is getting ready in front of the home crowd and is reported to be very well prepared. A solid track work may have put his top form where it should be, and even though the track suggests he has to do the job on the outside, he can handle rough work and is perfect over short distances. Oscar Ginman will probably keep a high pace to put pressure on the leader. 2 Stens Rubin has dominated the Gold Division throughout the winter with leadership and controlled pace, but now faces tougher opposition than before. He can still win, but this is not a dream match. 1 Four Guys Dream gets a place on the bigger systems and could be the super peel of the round if the favorites fail, although the most likely thing is that they will settle among themselves.

V85-4

1 Xanthis JR delivered a very strong final lap to victory last time and is now in a very favorable position at the start. If he defends the lead from the inside track, this could easily be over early. 6 Conrads Leonard galloped last, but was very strong in the victory before that. If he gets to the front, he is the horse to beat. 14 Alvena Roy starts from the extra, which is always demanding, but he comes with two straight wins and shows top form. With a little flap he can mix right up at the top. 8 Zuccezz Zack had a solid run as second behind the favorite last time and is a current guarding stretch, even though the back track is pulling down a bit.

V85-5

7 Fetisov is my first knocker in the round. The five-year-old is trained by Markus Waldmüller and has impressed greatly over time. With six wins in nine starts and three straight wins heading into this race, he has delivered at a consistently high level. The track is somewhat demanding and the opposition respectable, but Fetisov is still considered the horse with the highest capacity in the field.

V85-6

2 Godot showed very strong style in the winning races three and two starts ago, but galloped away the chance last time. In a clear edition this time he has a solid chance of winning and is a natural first stretch. 5 Piccadilly Pellini was allowed to set the pace in the lead last time and won safely. The four-year-old mare is developing well under Johan Untersteiner and is relevant again with a similar race plan. 8 Staro Steven comes with two straight wins and strong form, and even though the track is unfavorable, he has to go early. 4 Lill Kagan delivered a good performance as second at Åby last time and has further development potential. 3 Staro Tindra only lost to Piccadilly Pellini last time and is showing stable, good form.

5 Maroon Day had a very suitable task in the comeback last time and won in control after an early advance. He decided in effortless style and normally takes a clear step in terms of form with the run in his body. He can handle tough conditions and can do a lot of work himself. A fight for the lead is expected this time too, but based on capacity and hardiness he is a deserved favorite and my second banker for the day.

V85-8

6 Love Express WF took the lead after 500 meters last time and was completely superior. This is a solid five-year-old mare with a high top level who shows strong form today. If she gets to the lead again, she will be very difficult to beat. 10 Magic Jewel is a type we like and has shown high capacity. He took a solid win three starts ago and was last very good in fourth after a gallop. If he stays clear, he will be in the fight for victory. 4 Cheerful is an exciting alternative with a favorable starting position. She starts inside in the lead, and even though she has not started for a while, the stable is showing emerging form. When she is entered directly in V85, it indicates that she is well prepared, and in the lead she can be difficult to pass.
