The PGA Tour continues its signature event lineup this week when the 2026 Truist Championship takes place at the iconic Quail Hollow Club. With the PGA Championship just around the corner, it also provides one of the last truly great tests before the second major of the year, adding an extra dimension to the tournament.

The field is strong, the course is among the toughest players will face all season, and several of the world's best come in with both expectations and question marks regarding their form. This is a week where the right playing profile matters immensely – and where Quail Hollow often reveals who is actually ready for the biggest tasks.

Quail Hollow – a course that separates the best from the rest

Quail Hollow has been one of the most respected and feared courses on the PGA Tour for many years. The long par 71 layout demands quality in all areas of the game, but above all, this is a course that places enormous demands on the tee-to-green game.

The driver must work, the shots must be precise, and the players are constantly put under pressure throughout the round. The long par 4 holes mean that many are left with demanding iron shots into small and fast greens, while the rough quickly punishes bad shots.

The final stretch of the course – the famous “Green Mile” – remains one of the most demanding stretches on the entire tour. The final three holes often decide the tournament, and it’s rare to see a winner make it through Sunday without at least one critical test on the way in.

Historically, this has been a course that favors complete players. Length is important, but control is just as crucial. It is therefore no coincidence that names like Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas and Max Homa have had such great success here.

Rory back on his favorite course

It's impossible to avoid Rory McIlroy when Quail Hollow is on the calendar. The Northern Irishman has a very special relationship with the course, and very few players in modern times have dominated one specific PGA Tour course like Rory has here.

The combination of enormous length off the tee, high fairway and ability to attack long par 4s makes Quail Hollow a near-perfect fit for him. As he heads into another major week, many will naturally use this tournament as a pointer to where his game actually stands right now.

It also makes the odds harder to assess. Everyone knows how well Rory thrives here, and the market is pricing him accordingly.

A more open field than usual

While this is a signature event, the field is not completely complete. Scottie Scheffler is stepping down this week to prioritize his PGA Championship prep, and that opens up the tournament considerably more than we often see in these events.

Several of the biggest names are still in place, but without the world number one, it feels like far more players can realistically win, which also makes the middle of the odds extra interesting this week.

At the same time, several players are coming in with questions about form and stability. That's exactly why Quail Hollow could be a week where the best ball strikers really stand out.

Kristoffer Reitan continues to impress

From a Norwegian perspective, it will of course also be exciting to follow Kristoffer Reitan, who is once again ready for a signature event. That alone says a lot about how impressive his development has been recently.

At the same time, Reitan has already qualified for next week's PGA Championship, which will be his second major appearance. Just being in this position is a huge confirmation of the level he is currently at.

And the question is actually starting to get quite interesting: Is Kristoffer Reitan Norway's best golfer right now?

Viktor Hovland still has the highest top level and by far the strongest track record, but Reitan has shown a stability and progress throughout 2026 that makes the discussion no longer seem unreasonable. He plays with confidence, he looks comfortable on large venues, and he has shown that he can handle courses that require both discipline and quality from tee to green.

For Norwegian golf, it is extremely positive that we now have two players who are relevant in such tournaments.

What is required this week?

The Truist Championship is all about controlled power and quality in the long game. Quail Hollow allows very few weak shots, and players who struggle off the tee will quickly fall behind.

It is also a course that places great demands on long irons, especially on the many demanding par 4 holes. At the same time, players must accept that bogeys will happen. Patience and discipline are therefore at least as important as aggressive scoring.

This feels like a week where elite ball striking will be the most important attribute. Bare putting weeks alone are rarely enough to win at Quail Hollow.

Ready for the games

With Quail Hollow back as host, everything is set for a fantastic week of golf. The course is one of the best tests the players face all season, the field is strong, and several of the world's biggest names are using this tournament as the final touches before next week's major.

At the same time, the absence of Scheffler and the tough track profile make the betting market feel more open than usual.

Now it's about finding the right players.

Our recommended games

Cameron Young - Top 10 (1.83)

Cameron Young is looking like one of the hottest players in the world right now. The American has had an extreme season so far, and his streak of results is really starting to get impressive.

He won the Players Championship earlier this year, followed it up with a strong third-place finish in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, a top-10 finish in the Genesis Invitational and was in the running for the Masters, where he ultimately tied for third. Last week, his great form continued when he took a dominant victory in the Cadillac Championship at Doral.

What makes Young extra interesting this week is how well his playing profile fits Quail Hollow. He's one of the longest players on tour off the tee, but has also made great strides in control and stability over the past year. When the course demands elite ball striking, strong long irons and the ability to handle difficult conditions, this is the kind of test that suits him very well.

The numbers also support how consistent his level has been. Young has delivered top 10 finishes in six of his last ten starts, while also being among the best players on the tour both off the tee and in his approach game recently.

We therefore see great value in Cameron Young for a top 10 finish this week as well. His form is simply too strong to ignore, and Quail Hollow feels like a course where he should once again be at the top of the leaderboard throughout the weekend.

Ludvig Åberg – Top 10 (2.40)

Ludvig Åberg continues to impress enormously in what is already starting to look like an establishment right up there in the world elite. The Swede has delivered an incredibly stable start to the season, and the level he shows week after week makes him very difficult to avoid in these types of tournaments.

In his five starts so far this season, Åberg has delivered four top 5 finishes, while his lowest result is a 21st place. That really says it all about how high his bottom line has been throughout the year. He has not only shown top level – he has shown an ability to be at the top of the leaderboard almost every time he starts.

What makes Åberg extra interesting at Quail Hollow is how complete his game has already become. The length from the tee is obviously a big advantage on a course like this, but it is primarily how controlled and mature he appears that impresses the most. He loses very few strokes to the field in some parts of his game, and that makes him extremely well equipped for demanding courses where mistakes are quickly punished.

Quail Hollow traditionally suits players who are strong tee to green and comfortable with long iron shots, and that profile suits Åberg very well. At the same time, it seems as if he is already comfortable in the biggest tournaments, which is often crucial in signature events with strong fields.

We therefore believe that Ludvig Åberg's entry into the top 10 appears to be a very strong play this week as well. With the form he is showing right now, it is difficult to imagine that he will not once again be at the top throughout the weekend.

Akshay Bhatia over Justin Thomas – H2H (2.00)

One of the most interesting head-to-head games this week is between Akshay Bhatia and Justin Thomas. While Thomas is still the bigger name of the two, we think Bhatia is emerging as the more exciting game heading into the weekend.

Both delivered solid performances last week and finished in the same position, but when you look at the progression over time, it feels like Bhatia comes in with a slightly higher level of consistency right now. This is especially evident when looking at the last two seasons combined.

Bhatia has made huge strides both mentally and in his game, and now appears to be a far more complete PGA Tour player than he was before. What is most impressive is how rarely he drops out of tournaments altogether. He maintains a consistently high level from week to week, while his peak level continues to rise.

Justin Thomas naturally has the capacity to beat anyone when the game is right, but the problem in recent seasons has been precisely his consistency. The variation in performance has been far greater than we are used to from a player of his caliber, and especially on demanding courses he has occasionally struggled to maintain momentum through four rounds.

Quail Hollow is a course that requires control, discipline and quality tee to green over a long period of time, and right now we trust Bhatia more to deliver four solid rounds than Thomas to find his absolute top level throughout the week.

That's why we like Akshay Bhatia in this head-to-head duel. His form seems more stable, his development curve is clearly pointing upwards, and overall we think he has that little something extra right now.

Min Woo Lee – Top 20 (2.00)

Min Woo Lee continues to deliver a very solid season on the PGA Tour, and the Australian is really starting to establish himself as a player to be reckoned with in the biggest tournaments.

So far this season, he has already recorded five top 20 finishes, while his level has been consistently stable over a long period of time. Perhaps most impressive is how often he remains competitive even on courses that require different types of playing profiles. He has played a lot of golf this year, but still seems to keep both his energy and his level up.

Last week, he continued his positive trend when he finished the Cadillac Championship in 18th place. What made the result extra interesting was the way he finished the tournament, with a strong final round of 68 that showed that his form is still pointing in the right direction heading into this week.

Quail Hollow could suit Lee quite well. He has more than enough length off the tee to handle the long course, while his creativity often comes into its own on challenging layouts that require players to find different solutions throughout the round. When the putter starts to warm up, he has the ability to quickly climb the leaderboard.

We therefore like Min Woo Lee for the top 20 this week. His form seems stable, his confidence looks good after his finish last weekend, and overall this feels like a course where he should once again be able to be in the upper part of the field throughout the tournament.

Kristoffer Reitan – Top 20 (3.00)

It's hard not to be impressed by what Kristoffer Reitan is delivering right now. The Norwegian is playing his second signature event of the season this week, and the form he comes into this with makes him a very exciting name in the top 20 market.

Reitan has delivered consistent and impressive golf over time, and the results over the past month clearly show that his level is up to par against very strong fields. In fact, his only result outside the top 20 in the last four tournaments came in The Masters, where he still delivered a strong tournament and ultimately finished in a shared 41st place. Along the way, he stayed high on the leaderboard for a long time, showing that he can certainly handle the biggest arenas in the golf world.

Before that, he took a strong 10th place in the Valero Texas Open, before following up with an impressive 2nd place in the Zurich Classic with Kristoffer Ventura. Last week, he delivered another solid tournament with a 14th place, despite a weak final round on Sunday that cost him the opportunity to move even higher.

What makes Reitan extra interesting this week is that his game seems extremely stable right now. He is hitting the ball well, seems more confident mentally than before, and seems to be enjoying himself more and more in big tournaments with strong fields. At the same time, Quail Hollow suits a type of player who dares to hit aggressive shots from the tee and who can handle demanding long iron shots – something Reitan has shown a lot of quality in throughout the season.

This is also an incredibly exciting period for Norwegian golf. Reitan has already secured a place in next week's PGA Championship, and the question of who is actually Norway's best golfer right now is starting to get really interesting.

Regardless, we think that Kristoffer Reitan's top 20 appears to be a very exciting bet this week. The form is strong, the confidence seems high, and the odds simply feel too good to ignore.

These will be our selected games this week. But we will of course provide more tips throughout the tournament. You can find them on our odds list!

PS! There is also another PGA tournament this weekend, where Kristoffer Ventura will be in action. We will definitely have some tips from this tournament as well. ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic also has many good names on the list. So much golf to follow if you want this weekend.
