We have reached the quarter-finals of the Women's European Championship, and we have to say that we have been given a real treat. In what has so far been a positive championship, with many nice goals, and teams that impress with fast and nice attacking football. We are so lucky to have two of the best teams against each other already now.

Here, the stands at the Letzigrund stadium in Switzerland will probably be filled to capacity. Because this could just as well have been a final match. The fact that England lost early to France has actually been seen as a blessing. Because it means that both of these teams are on the opposite side of what Spain is. It is probably a team that neither of them wants to meet before a possible final.

Let's take a look at the teams.

Sweden – Solid in all positions.

This must be one of the most solid teams of the championship. The team seems complete. We also saw that in the group stage. They were in a pool with Germany, Denmark and Poland, and had little trouble winning that pool. 9 points and a whopping 8-1 goal difference. Even though the Germany match was marked by a red card to Germany, Sweden looked like the clearly better team of the two before that happened.

They impress with solid defense, and not least an ability to quickly switch to attack when they win the ball. They have a lot of speed in the team, and will probably be dangerous for England as well, who will certainly try to dominate the match in the field game.

Stina Blackstenius has been good at the top, and in addition to scoring goals, has acted as the perfect playmaker. With the speed of players like Rytting Kaneryd and Fridolina Rolfo, this poses a threat to any team they face. Sweden also has a chicken to pick with England. Because although Sweden has a fantastic history of results, in recent years it has stopped when they have entered the playoffs.

That was also the case when they faced England in the last European Championship. A match they lost 4-0, and had to watch helplessly as England went all the way. Coach Peter Gerhardsson has focused on the fact that it is now a new time with new opportunities, and that this team has the opportunity to write its own history, and one should not ignore the fact that they can go all the way. The first obstacle is reigning champion England.

England – An old recipe for success.

The team started, as I said, with a loss to France. A team that many have seen as one of the favorites to win the championship. So it was not a crisis in that sense. But it put pressure on England that they had to deal with, and we can say with certainty that they really have.

Because in a group with the Netherlands and Wales, these were matches they never looked back on. 4-0 over the Netherlands was followed by 6-1 against Wales. This meant that the team finally finished with 6 points and a whopping 11-3 in goal difference. The last few matches have really shown what lives in this England team. They have almost lived in the opponent's half. With high ball-winning pressure, England has really impressed offensively. We believe that they will continue to do so. Players like Russo, Mead, James and Hemp clearly thrive best on that side of the field. Against France, the team looked a bit heavy. Little speed and little creativity. But like the old recipe where teams play in shape during the tournament, England have found their groove. The team looks more energetic, and they also have more offensive power to fill in if they need to. Players like Beever-Jones and Chloe Kelly are hungry to contribute if you need to throw in even more offensive power.

But England should be careful not to be too offensive, because we saw what Sweden did to an offensive Germany. They countered them in the end. Will England be able to hold back? We have our doubts.

Conclusion – The teams will score.

We believe that the positive trend from the championship will continue. The teams have shown that they want to entertain. Many matches with many goals have been the trend. Even between the best teams, there are good goals scored.

Here we believe in a match where England will try to dominate. If they get the flow, they can actually run over Sweden. But we have a Sweden that can bite well, so they can definitely create something. We really believe in goals in this match, and the temptation with both teams scoring is 1.80.

But we end up with a different bet, in the event that England are as good as they have looked in recent matches. Then they can easily score a few goals on their own. Our bet therefore becomes:

Football at 21:00: Sweden – England: Over 2.5 goals (2.00)
