A CS2 match from the tier 2 scene, where SINNERS, as one of the most impressive teams in tier 2, meets Venom. A Polish team that you can never completely write off. Given that both teams are ready for battle, we could quickly get a close and even matchup here, but at the same time the match has the potential to be a run-off. To consider what to play, you first need to go through conceivable scenarios;
The match is a Bo3. This means that the match is best of 3 maps, and ends as soon as one of the teams has won two maps. There are 7 maps to choose from. Ancient, Dust II, Inferno, Mirage, Nuke, Overpass, Train. How are the maps chosen? It goes ban – ban – pick – pick – ban – ban – decide, so both teams first remove one map they want to avoid playing, then both teams choose what they want to choose. Then they remove 2 more maps, and then the last map remains as the decider.
Sinners
Sinners is a team I usually count on when I play them. For me, they have been reliable. They have probably been a little irritated after they lost a final not so long ago, but then unfortunately they did not have their day. Sinners is a team that consists of the players Kisserek, Beastik, Pepo, Stressarn, Shock. They come from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and North Macedonia respectively. They rank No. 51 in the world according to the world ranking.
Sinners have won 4 of their last 5 matches, and in 41% of the cases Sinners choose the Nule map. This is in line with what I have noticed when I have watched them play. Sinners also like to remove Train, and have removed it in 72% of the matches they have played.
One of the strengths of Sinners is how the other players lift the team when someone is not having a good day. For example, it is not uncommon for Beastik, Shock or Kisserek to come up with incredible rounds if Pepo is not having a good day. In addition, they have Stressarn. A player who always seems to be on. So this team is a well-knit team with good chemistry. And so far in the ESL Challenger League Season 50 Europe Cup 4, as the tournament is called, Sinners has dominated all the rounds without losing a single map.
Venom
Venom is an all-Polish team consisting of Innocent, Sobol, Flayy, Qlocuu, hfah. In the world rankings, Venom is ranked 42nd in the world. Venom has won 3 of their last 5 matches. According to HLTV, Venom likes to choose the map Train, and has done so 32% of the time. And what is a bit interesting here is that Venom seems to prefer the map that Sinners bans most often. Most likely, Venom will have to go with a different choice, and my tip is that they choose Ancient or Nuke. Venom likes to remove Inferno, and bans this map 96% of the time. Otherwise, it seems like Venom has good team chemistry, but it is worth noting that in this tournament they have been forced to play all three maps in their matches. Which could mean that Venom has its weaknesses.
Match results and games
I think the match will take place on the maps Nuke, Ancient. And we shouldn't ignore the fact that Dust 2, Mirage or Overpass could be the Decider. Venom has a good winning streak on Nuke, 5 wins in a row. I think a team like Sinners can end that streak. After all, Sinner has 35 matches on Nuke with a 63% win rate, while Venom has 16 matches on Nuke and a 56% win rate. Sinners have played more Nuke, and thus more experience.
On to Ancient, a map both teams have played a lot and a map where a lot can happen. Venom has had 16 matches on Ancient with a 62% win rate, while Sinner has had 22 matches with a 55% win rate. Venom has been more successful on Ancient. For the 3 possible Deciders, Sinners have not only played more matches than Venom on all 3 maps, they also have a higher win rate on all 3. If you were to go a little deeper into the possible outcomes for the decider, it could very well be that Overpass is what you are left with. Unfortunately, it is difficult to know. Map vetoes are not decided until 15 minutes before the match. Sinners can choose to skip Nuke and instead choose Mirage, making Nuke the decider. We will see.
Expected match picture
I think Sinners will remove Train, which will make it very difficult for Venom. They will then have to choose a map they are not as familiar with, and may end up choosing Ancient. In addition, we should remember that Sinners have more matches and better stats on most maps, which is why I see Sinners taking the win. The match could go to three maps, if Venom chooses and wins Ancient, but ultimately I think it will go Sinners' way. And therefore I land on the following bet at surprisingly good odds;
CS2 at 19:00: Sinners – Vennom: Sinners win (1.95)
Alternative games;
CS2 at 19:00: Sinners – Vennom: Over 2.5 maps (1.85)
