Analysis Information
The floodlights at Sarpsborg Stadium hit the artificial turf that could quickly become a scene for revenge. Because when Bodø/Glimt enter the field in this tense match, it's not just three points at stake – it's an answer. An answer to the humiliation last time, and a reminder to the rest of the Eliteserien about what level they actually possess. If we can get odds on them in one match, it's this one.
This is a Glimt team that has had an extraordinary start to the season, with matches at the highest European level, while also delivering solid performances at home. And even though they suffered a terrible defeat against Viking FK last time out, it is precisely such matches that often trigger a reaction from the best teams. In addition, the surface suits them well – the pace of the game and the movements often work even better on artificial turf.
Sarpsborg – unstable start to the match
Sarpsborg 08 have not had the start they had hoped for. The loss to Rosenborg BK in the previous round of the league was particularly disappointing, not only in terms of the result, but also in the way the match developed. A Rosenborg team that had struggled to create chances earlier in the season produced three big chances against Sarpsborg – a clear sign of how vulnerable the hosts have been defensively.
In addition, they conceded seven corners, which underlines a match where they are being pushed backwards over time. Before that, it was only 1-1 at home against Start – a team that is expected to fight at the bottom of the table – in a match where Sarpsborg never quite got the hang of it.
This is a team that is struggling to find stability, and their performances so far show little sign of them being a big surprise. Against a team with the pace and movement of Glimt, on a fast artificial pitch, this could easily be a match where they are once again pressured low and have to defend for much of the match.
Bodø/Glimt – quality, pace and desire for revenge
Bodø/Glimt have already shown what a top level they are this season. Their performances in the Champions League have been strong, and in domestic play they have delivered several solid results – including 4-0 against Lillestrøm SK in the cup and 3-0 away against Kristiansund BK in the league.
Then came the blow against Viking. A 5-0 loss that shook many – but which could also be just what is needed to wake up a team like this. Historically, Glimt have been extremely good at fighting back after weak performances, and with the form they have built up through tough European matches, they should be better equipped than most.
In addition, we know how Glimt plays. They press high, attack with width and pace, and produce both chances and corners consistently. On artificial turf, they often get even better flow in their passing game, which can be crucial here.
Conclusion – clear reaction expected at good odds
We are left with an out-of-form Sarpsborg team, who miss both big chances and many set pieces against – against a Bodø/Glimt that has both a higher top level, more match training from Europe, and not least a fierce desire for revenge after the last defeat.
When we also know that Glimt both scores a lot and has the ability to decide matches early, many points towards a match where the difference becomes clear.
Eliteserien at 19:00: Sarpsborg 08 – Bodø/Glimt: Bodø/Glimt -1.5 goals (2.06)
Glimt has the quality, pace and motivation to not only win – but to do it comfortably.
Alternative bet:
If you prefer to look towards a more game picture-driven market, then corners could be interesting. With Sarpsborg allowing a lot of pressure, and a Glimt team producing a high number of crosses and finishes, the following bet is definitely playable:
Sarpsborg 08 – Bodø/Glimt: Bodø/Glimt over 6.5 corners
Unfortunately, there are no odds available for that game. However, if the odds are over 2, we think it might be playable. You can always find other tips here!
