These teams have met twice, and incredibly, it is 2-0 in matches for KFUM. Who doesn't remember the match last year when KFUM devastated RBK in their own big room; Lerkendal, on May 16th itself. That match was of course to be avenged, and in the away match Rosenborg was to strike back as a thank you for the last time. That didn't work out, and Alfred Johansson had to stand up straight and answer critical questions after the loss.

We can say that the tide turned after that match, because from then on Rosenborg is the team that has taken the most points in the Eliteserien. And while KFUM has not resembled the version they were last year, Rosenborg has had a bit of debris in its machinery despite the points haul. We will take a look at the teams before we conclude.

Rosenborg – Good, but not perfect.

Rosenborg has picked up a good number of points so far, but they have had their struggles anyway. The team scores too few goals, and you could also see that against Bodø/Glimt the team is probably a few notches below a Glimt that has the day. The 4-0 loss there was twice as many goals conceded in one game as they had conceded in the first 8 games. That's why many people wondered if it would be a little different now. Especially considering that both Nemcik and Ceide had to face Fredrikstad, which is known to be a good home team.

It would turn out that the Bodø/Glimt match had clearly been a kind of wake-up call. Because the rock-solid defense was back, and with the second striker scoring of the season by Sæter, it would be enough to win. It was also secured by a brilliant Broholm, who has been a bit tame for a good number of matches now. A solid effort was put in and the team fought back nicely.

Now the team will be visited by a KFUM that has only won against RBK. Not many teams can boast that. We are absolutely certain that Rosenborg will push hard in this one, to get a win. They have not been at their best in such matches this year. With 1-1 against Kristiansund, and 1-0 against Haugesund (who actually pushed at the end), Rosenborg probably wants to decide this match before we go through overtime. It could mean a lot to get Emil Ceide back, who looks like he will make it to the match. Sæter will get another chance, and Broholm is about to find his form again. We think they will quickly create many chances.

YMCA – Relegation Pace

As we predicted before this season in this year's table tips, KFUM Oslo has had a tough time so far in this year's series. Right now they have a pace that will take them down a division. But the team has qualities, and they actually create good chances. That could easily mean trouble for an RBK that wants to attack. They have a lot of counterattacking power, and they can quickly create something here.

Nunez is quickly an attack alone. We see that they have varied a little in formation this year, and we expect them to come in a 3-5-2. They have varied a little with a 3-4-3, but it is usually against opposition that they want to dominate. The 3-5-2 position can quickly become a low 5-3-2. Then they will have a tough time. We will be completely honest that we are a little unsure of how this match will end. RBK has struggled to create much against teams that belong lower in the table, and only the Bryne match at home is a warning that KFUM could end up in trouble here. Otherwise, all the matches have been completely lived in. That means we are trying a different game than the result this time. Let's look at the conclusion.

Conclusion – Rosenborg will be desperate to decide

As Otto Ulseth writes in his article after the FFK match, RBK should put aside all thoughts of a pragmatic approach to matches. They are undoubtedly best when they play their own football. Against KFUM there has now been a lot of focus on the team attacking. This opens up several scenarios; an RBK that presses with full-backs and wings will undoubtedly try to get many crosses. We also saw that against FFK, that that was what created the goal. Sæter needs crosses, and they know that. That could mean many corners for the home team, and we must honestly admit that we were thinking of over 6.5 corners for the home team. Those odds are tempting (2.10). But after checking the statistics of KFUM, we think a bet on total corners is safer. Because they average 4.1 corners per match, while the home team averages a whopping 6.4 corners. We therefore land on the following bet;

Eliteserien at 17:00: Rosenborg – KFUM Oslo: Over 9.5 corners (1.92)
