Analysis Information
Saturday at 4 pm is an important time for many when it comes to football. For those of us who have grown up with the betting game, this has always been a sacred time. Something you look forward to throughout the week. I won't claim that Ranheim against Aalesund on the shore has the same status as many of those games. But for the local club Ranheim, this is probably one of the most exciting things you get throughout the season. Because there is no doubt; Aalesund with Rekdal/Frigård in the lead, is exciting enough that this is a game that is followed closely. An Aalesund that has perhaps impressed more in the cup this year than in OBOS. They clearly have potential, and there is no doubt that they really should win this one. But will they? Let's take a look.
Ranheim – In a better place
Looking at this Ranheim team, they have undoubtedly taken steps during the season. A young coaching team with Eggen Rismark and Helland, got going early in the season, and opened with 3 straight losses. Since then, the team has gone 3-1-1 in the last 5 games. It has restored faith in the project. This is a team with few resources, and it is about getting the most out of the least possible. They are an institution in the local community, and are behind much of the positive that happens on that side of town. They arrange everything from sponsor cups to May 17 celebrations, and are in this respect as much a broad club as an elite club. A balance they have mastered for many years.
Many thought they would fall apart completely when they had to make the trip down from the Eliteserien. But instead they have found their place in OBOS. A place where they belong. They are still trying to build on local talent, along with smart investments. Looking behind the results this year, there is one thing we have noticed that we will try to exploit in today's proposal. Ranheim has now scored in 6 games in a row, and that is perhaps something we can use in combination with Aalesund's favorite stamp. Let's see what we find out.
Aalesund – One of those who can move up
Rekdal/Frigård can do this. We saw what they did with HamKam before they went to Trondheim, and RBK. A bad match from the start, and the project was really lost before it started. No doubt that this coaching team represents a more pragmatic approach to football than the fans in RBK wanted. That was also their path. But here, at this level, where the most important thing is to take enough points to be able to reach through the eye of the needle for promotion, it is without a doubt a very strong coaching team. They often do enough to get something. That is probably what we will speculate about this time.
As mentioned, the home team scores in almost every match. This means that in order to get the desired result from Trondheim this Saturday, Aalesund will probably have to score two goals or more. Aalesund will be cynical enough to do that. The team has knocked out both Bodø Glimt and HamKam in the cup, and that shows how calculated they can be. It may have affected the points capture in OBOS a bit, and they will not feel that they can afford to give anything away in this match. Then they will be lagging behind good teams like Lillestrøm, Kongsvinger and Sogndal. Because both Aalesund and Egersund have the opportunity to get all the way up to 2nd place with their lagging matches. That is another position they hope can be theirs at the end of the season, with a Lillestrøm that looks too good for this level. Then these matches must be won.
Conclusion – Here comes the goal
As we know Ranheim, they will try to create something at home. They score quickly during the match, and then, as mentioned, Aalesund must score two to win. Another scenario is that Ranheim wants too much, and thus they empty the back rows. It has happened earlier this season, and Aalesund will certainly be able to exploit it, which in the worst case could mean that Aalesund will have many chances, and perhaps also scores. Should Ranheim score two goals or more, we do not imagine that Aalesund will not score during the match. The safest bet, in our eyes, is therefore;
Norway at 16:00: Ranheim – Aalesund: Over 2.5 goals + BTTS (2.10)
