Project Warsaw

Projekt Warszawa is the tournament's big outsider. For much of the season, it looked like the year would end in disappointment after weak results throughout the winter, but after the coaching change in February, the team has been almost transformed. Their form has skyrocketed, and Warsaw has won most of the games since then.

The big downside for Warsaw is that they lost Bartosz Bednorz a few weeks ago to a hamstring injury. It's a heavy blow for the Poles, and a player who will be very difficult to replace in such crucial matches. Nevertheless, the team has shown several times this spring that they thrive best when expectations are low and the pressure is on the opponent.

Sir Safety Perugia

Sir Safety Perugia enter the tournament as the clear favorite to win the Champions League again. The Italian giants are the reigning champions and have established themselves in recent seasons as perhaps the most complete volleyball team in the world. With stars in every position, enormous breadth and a sky-high top level, Perugia is the team everyone wants to beat.

They come into this match with 18 straight wins and are brimming with confidence. The only thing that can stop Perugia's dominance is themselves if they underestimate their opponents or lose concentration at times.

So what can we expect in the first semi-final?

On paper, it's about the favorite against the outsider. Perugia will try to take control with power and pace from the start, while Projekt Warszawa must hope for an even match where serve pressure, defense and the crowd can create uncertainty for the Italians. If the Poles manage to keep up early, we could have a far more dramatic showdown than many think. But if Perugia hits their peak, there are few teams in the world that can stop them.

The value in the first semi-final lies in Sir Safety Perugia going out and showing why they are favourites to win the Champions League again. Therefore, the bet is that Perugia will win 3–0.
