Sometimes it's the case that you simply love playing against an opponent you have an exceptionally good handle on. We have to say that about this match when Kalmar takes the trip to visit Østersund in Østersund Arena. Because while the home team fears this match, Kalmar will probably think that this is a match we normally win. Will it be like that this season too? We think so. Østersunds IK – a fight to avoid relegation

He has also brought Maksims Semjonovs, who has a lot of experience from both matches in the SHL, and also Hockeyallsvenskan with several teams in recent seasons.

Otherwise, we see little new in the team, and the focus will probably once again be on saving their place, and perhaps fighting for the bottom playoff spots.

Kalmar – on par with last year

The team is also in the same position as last spring after the first games of the season. The team, which finished 6th last year, has started this season well and is also in 6th place so far.

As we have written a little about earlier this year, Kalmar has strengthened itself somewhat as we see it before this season. There are some short-term contracts. But it shows that the club is working well, to keep the team competitive. So far it has worked okay.

The problem for Kalmar is that they can beat anyone in front of their own fans. But away they can lose to anyone. They are a very good home team in front of a loud crowd. But the team is focused on developing away from home as well, and they face a dream opponent here.

We mentioned that Kalmar has a good grip on Østersund, and the fact is that they have 7 games in a row that have led to a win against this opponent. They will probably take that into this match. In 6 of the 7 wins, they have actually won by 2 goals or more. So there are no coincidences going on here. It is simply a team they have a good grip on.
