This weekend's analysis brings us to the last quarter-final of the women's cup. There we have Øksil W, who are traveling to the capital to face Oslo Volley W.

Oslo Volleyball W

Oslo Volley W had a tough season last year and had to play in the qualifiers to stay in the Mizuno League. In the qualifiers, they made a clean sheet against BK Tromsø W. Towards the end of this season, there has been a change of coach, and the club has brought in an old friend in Marko Milosevic. In addition, they have brought in eight new players, which means that Oslo Volley W has more resources to play on this year than last year. We have seen that so far this season, with points in all the matches they have played in the Mizuno League.

Axe W

Øksil W have had two good seasons in the Mizuno League and started this season very well. They advanced to the Challenge Cup a little over a week ago, 6–3 on aggregate against Kaunas W. They come into this quarter-final with a lot of confidence, but Øksil Wl has had an enormous travel load considering all the away trips they have already had this season. For Øksil W, Ragni Steen Knudsen has been very active in recent games, with over 20 points per game and has been completely unstoppable in attack. It also seems that the rest of the team has followed suit, something we saw in Europe two weeks ago.

What can we expect in the final women's quarter-final?

I think this is going to be an extremely even and dramatic quarter-final, and one should not ignore the fact that this could go to a five-setter. We have an Oslo Volley W team that has become much more even and has more players to play on. As for Øksils W, they may become too dependent on Ragni, but so far she has been absolutely enormous and almost impossible to stop. The team evaluation also shows that these are two even teams that meet.

What I attach great importance to heading into this quarter-final is the enormous travel load Øksil W has been through. It is a clear disadvantage for them that it is once again an away match. Has Øksil W managed to land after the historic victory in Europe? And will they once again be able to mobilize for this away trip? Because they will face a hungry Oslo Volley W team that has performed well and is probably very motivated to advance to the semi-finals on home soil.

I think Oslo Volley W will draw the longest straw in this quarter-final, and therefore I am betting on Oslo Volley W to win (1.61).
