Analysis of:
Newcastle Jets – Brisbane Roar 21-02-2025

Analysis Information
It's almost the weekend, but not before the first game in Australia is played. And the game between Newcastle Jets and Brisbane Roar sneaks in between breakfast and lunch. Perfect timing, in my eyes. And I think we can finally get the Newcastle Jets out of the way.
Newcastle Jets – version 2.0
In the shadow of the big teams, the team from the east coast is in the process of carrying out this year's turnaround. For a long time it looked very dark, but there are many indications that today's home team is facing brighter times. Because at the beginning of the season, losses were followed by another loss, but now they are on track to win their third game in a row.
With a 2-2-1 record in their last five, the team has really shown what they are good at. Based on their recent results and the team they will be playing against, I think we will have a home team chasing three more points. The home team has actually won their last three meetings against the visitors. And when this match is over, I think the hosts can increase that to four.
The goal difference is not very impressive, but it looks better now, having scored over 1.5 goals in their last four games. Players like; Lachlan Rose, Clayton Taylor and Kota Mizunuma have been involved in creating incredible chances, and delivering quality in the final third of the pitch. Lachlan Rose has actually scored five goals in his eight games for the team this season, several of which have been as substitutes. Quite impressive.
Two games ago, the home team finally got to showcase one of their old academy players. Noah James has returned home to where it all began; in the Newcastle Jets' academy. The goalkeepers, who played brilliantly in the win against Melbourne Victory and who were named man of the match in the win against Adelaide, will certainly have renewed confidence here
Brisbane Roar – the wooden spoon lurks on the horizon.
Unlike the home team, the visitors have done anything but impress. Brisbane have in fact only won one game this season. Something needs to happen soon if the visitors do not want to spend the rest of the season in last place in the table.
The away team is 1-1-3 in the last five, and 17-32 in goal difference. With that goal difference, the visitors are averaging over 1.5 goals conceded per game. They have also not kept a clean sheet in any of their 17 games, and I don't see how they will do that against Newcastle Jets.
There aren't many players who have excelled significantly, but the away team also has a player who has returned home. After playing for Gangwon FC, Henry Hore has once again donned the orange jersey. And after just three games, the energetic striker has scored two goals and put on an impressive display. But we doubt that this will be enough to keep Brisbane away from "the wooden spoon".
Will there be a goal celebration?
I'm a little tempted to bet on the home team when the odds are as high as they are. We'll probably get a goal-scoring game, but if Newcastle Jets concede one goal they'll still need two to secure three points.
It's no secret that I think the home team will run away with the win, and with the form they are in now I don't think the visitors will be able to stop them. It will be exciting to see how the defense performs now that Noah James is in place between the posts. Maybe they will even be able to keep a clean sheet?
When the odds of over 1.5 goals for Newcastle Jets are as high as 1.78 I can't help but recommend it. Both teams to score could also go in, but I'm putting my money on the following bet;
Football at 09:35: Newcastle Jets – Brisbane Roar: Over 1.5 goals to Newcastle Jets (1.78)
