The excitement is really building as we enter the 27th round of the Italian Serie A. This weekend offers many treats, but at 18:00 on Saturday, the two biggest teams of the season will meet for a duel. Inter travel to Napoli to defend their one-point lead over the hosts, who were relegated to second place in the league last weekend. Napoli desperately need three points to keep up with Inzaghi's men. This will be a real treat!

Naples – debris in the machinery

Things haven't been going well for the Sky Blues in recent weeks. With just six points in their last five games and just one win, their form has been on the decline. The situation didn't get any better when they had to travel home from Como in a disappointing 2-1 defeat.

David Neres is still out with an injury, and a recently injured Frank Anguissa looks set to be in the stands for this weekend's clash. It will be interesting to see what Antonio Conte has hatched as a game plan.

A bright spot in an otherwise lackluster period is Giancomo Raspadori, who has found the back of the net again with two goals in the last two games. This could give Napoli a boost, especially as he has not been at his best earlier in the season.

With only one point ahead of this weekend's opponent, and Atalanta breathing down their necks, Napoli have no choice but to get up and start deciding games again. Maybe a match like this is exactly what they need?

Inter – solid guests

Can Simone Inzaghi replicate last year's triumph with the Nerazzurri and top the podium after 38 league rounds? If so, this six-pointer could be crucial to increasing the lead and gaining a small advantage at the top of the table.

Things have not been rosy for Inter recently, with only two wins in their last five league games. One match has ended in a draw, while two losses have come away from home. Nevertheless, the team has secured further promotion in the Champions League and took a strong victory at home against Lazio in the Coppa Italia in midweek, which sent them to the semi-finals of the tournament.

Inter have had to do without key players due to injuries. Both first-choice goalkeeper Yann Sommer and versatile defender Matteo Darmian are out. It will also be interesting to see what role power forward Marcus Thuram will play in this weekend's match, after he was recently out with injury. In his absence, veteran Marko Arnautović has shown good tactics, with both goal points and a dream goal in the midweek cup match.

I was impressed with how Inter handled Lazio in the cup match, despite a weakened starting line-up and most of their key players on the bench. They still managed to keep a clean sheet and win the match relatively comfortably. This shows that the team is solid defensively, while also having attacking qualities – even without leaders like Lautaro Martínez and Thuram.

Conclusion

This is a season-defining match that both teams are desperate to win – both for the crucial points and for the momentum a win can bring. Napoli have struggled against Inter in recent years and have won just one of the last eleven meetings between the teams (four draws and six losses).

This will undoubtedly be a close and even match, where two teams with strong offensive qualities will try to break down each other's solid defenses. At the same time, this could be a goal fest - because when the first goal comes, the match can really catch fire. We try the following plays;

Italy 18:00: Napoli – Inter: both teams to score (1.93)

Alternative game:

Italy 18:00: Napoli – Inter: Inter to win (2.46)
