Analysis of:
Molde – Bryne 03-08-2025

Analysis Information
Early on with an analysis here, as these are two teams that are not playing in Europe this year.
There is perhaps only one team that has expectations of that of these two. Molde has been a regular fixture there for a few years. But after last year they ended up outside the good company, and they could easily do the same this season. Because everything is not as it used to be at Aker Stadion. Molde is changing, and has not quite figured this out together with Høgmo.
Bryne, on the other hand, who are actually ahead of Molde in the table after half the series, are probably more satisfied with how they have performed so far. The teams actually have the same number of points before they meet here. 17 points in 15 games is a given for both teams. But Bryne is ahead on goal difference. Thus, the leads for an exciting match are set.
Molde got a long-awaited win at home against Strømsgodset last time out. But it was only their second win in 7 home games this season, and they will probably be looking to add to that statistic against a team that before the season was tipped far behind the team from Møre. Bryne could easily be a desirable opponent in that respect, as they only have 1 away win so far in 7 games.
Molde – Improvement after Hoseth came.
This summer, Magne Hoseth had to make a difficult decision to leave his position as assistant coach in Kristiansund, when Molde chose to put money on the table to strengthen the coaching apparatus at his old club. Hoseth, who has had an eventful coaching career so far, says that the choice was ultimately easy, when he was allowed to return home.
This could prove to be the best transfer to Molde this season. Because there is no doubt that he is about to add something to this team. Høgmo has throughout his coaching career depended on good people on the training field, and Hoseth has contributed well there according to the player group. They now play with more energy, and not least a clearer attack pattern.
The club has had to start a little over again in the middle of the season, when the team demanded change. Of course, it has taken time. But they also believe that they are improving. As Hoset himself says to TV2, this is a bear in hibernation. The statement came the day before the meeting with Godset, which ended with a nice 4-1 victory. It seems that the player who ended up in 503 games for the club, has some of the respect that Høgmo has lacked in the dressing room, and maybe together they can turn this ship around?
Then Molde will be a team that can compete with most. Because they have quality in the club. We believe they will continue in the same vein in this match, and it will be exciting to see how they look against a team that is expected to beat them again.
Bryne – Away form is the challenge.
Bryne, who have consistently performed above expectations before the season, have mostly impressed at home. Because we have seen the tendency for them to struggle more away. With only 1 win in their 7 away games, this team would probably have great problems saving their place if it weren't for their strong home statistics. It is not extreme, but good enough to take enough points to save their place, which is certainly the clear goal for the season.
HamKam, who are starting to take shape under Myhre, are breathing down their necks, and are now only 3 points behind in the qualifying place. It could easily be the place many of the teams down there will try to avoid. Teams like Vålerenga, Kristiansund, HamKam and Bryne all seem to be fighting to avoid 14th place, which gives the possibility of relegation. The last two places are probably already reserved. It will therefore be important for Bryne to take more points away from home.
But with a desperate Molde starting to find shape, we think it will be tough in this match. Moreira, who has been an enrichment for the Eliteserien, can of course create something. But on a fast artificial turf pitch, Molde are probably favorites with their more technical players.
Conclusion – Molde wants to get away from the bottom.
We believe there should be a class difference between these teams. There should also be no danger of underestimation, as both teams are in the same position.
The teams have met once earlier this year, and Molde won that match 3-0 away. A very strong result from a team that has struggled. We believe something similar can happen in this match, and we also see that Bryne has lost two matches in a row. First away against Tromsø, and then at home against Viking. Both ended with two deserved 3-1 losses.
Are we perhaps seeing Bryne slowing down a bit compared to their good start? Not entirely unusual for a newly promoted team. Before the season, there is no doubt that this is a match where most people expected Bryne to lose, and perhaps even with more goals. That is also the direction we think this will go. But we are playing it safe a bit, and playing the following bet:
