Serie gold number 20 for the reds from the Beatles city is being engraved at this moment. Tanging Manchester United's record, and the crowning of a somewhat incredible debut season for Arne Slott. That it should end like this, in a season where most had guessed that it would all be between Manchester City and Arsenal. But the good Slott wanted it differently, and led by a brilliant Mohamed Salah, they have delivered the goods from the start. The King of Egypt has delivered goals and points on a continuous basis, and the records are increasingly low-hanging for the fast-footed right winger. The pen stroke on paper finally came too, and now all we have to do is keep the heat on for a couple more games, and we can celebrate the anniversary together with the fans. Corona ruined the big celebration last time, but rest assured, this time the city will be dressed in red from head to toe.

Leicester, on the other hand, have little to cheer about. The Premier League is the wrong arena for the Foxes in 2025, and with a 99% probability it will take them down a level. The season has been bad for the champions from 2016, and they have really been a toss-up from start to finish. There are several things that need to change if they are to move directly up again, because at the time of writing it is difficult to highlight the great things from this crew. The question is whether the party is not also over for Vardy now.

Leicester – At least one number for little ones

After 32 games played in this year's league, four have been won. Four out of 32. They have scored 27 goals over these matches, while you can turn the numbers around to find the number of goals conceded. With a goal difference of minus 45 and 22 losses, life is not easy. In short.

In the last nine league games, eight have been lost. The latest in the series came last weekend, when they held an out-of-form Brighton to a draw. That would mean one point from the last 27 available. Absolutely miserable numbers, and the only thing that saved Leicester from a complete clown stamp this season is the fact that Southampton have been even worse. We predict a few lean seasons for Leicester if they don't do a real spring cleaning when the season is rounded off.

As if the analysis is not one-sided enough already, Liverpool are not Leicester's dream opponents. The losses have been close, and it often ends in ugly numbers. If the chances are to be present, you have to try to take a page out of Everton's book, and try to close again according to all the rules of the art, go on the counterattack, find a weak point in Liverpool's defense, maybe Andy Robertson, and hope for the best. The problem is that at some point or another Liverpool will come with great speed and superior skills, and the wall will, after all the excesses, crack. It will take a lot for the points to remain at the King Power Stadium this Sunday.

Liverpool – to 20 in style

The season, like last season, was set to be very profitable for a long time. But, like last season, they failed to a certain extent towards the end. The Champions League was lost to the high-flying French, while the final at Wembley against Newcastle came too quickly, and perhaps bore a bit too much of the impression of being a kind of consolation prize. Liverpool never got up to speed. The league season, however, is a completely different story.

Because in the domestic league, Liverpool have been impressive. A gap of 13 points to Arsenal, 74 goals scored, and not a home defeat since being surprised by Nottingham at the start of the season. Anfield has been a fortress, and Liverpool have been good all over the pitch. Alisson has proven himself on several occasions to be among the very best goalkeepers in the world, the midfield has been revitalized, led by a brilliant Gravenberch, while Salah can note his best season so far in the red shirt. Add Gakpo, Mac Allister, Diaz, van Dijk, Konate and Szoboszlai and this version of Liverpool is beyond all competitors on the ball island at the moment. Slot has managed the feat of making Klopp's team even sharper. All credit to him.

The fact is Liverpool can become league champions already this weekend. For that to happen, Leicester must be beaten, while a Champions League-focused Arsenal must lose to Ipswich. Maybe not particularly likely, but the chance is there. If not, then the coffin will be nailed again for good if Leicester and Spurs fight over the next two. Two teams that Liverpool like to face. The league gold is so close now that you can practically put the trophy on the shelf.

For Liverpool, it's all about keeping the ball rolling and securing the final points. We think the first three will come on Sunday, and we think they'll come in style. As I said, Liverpool like to face Leicester, and it's likely that Salah will find the net again, as he usually does against this weekend's opponent. The last six between these two have ended in red wins, and in the last four Liverpool have scored three or four goals. An uninspired Leicester against a team that only has the league gold to focus on should be a tough match.

Conclusion – Will the ketchup effect come on Sunday?

There are a few things that indicate that. Liverpool thrive against Leicester, and the goals tend to be loose. Salah looked better against West Ham last time, and if the Egyptian takes another step in the right direction, there will be one or two goals from that side. Another aspect is how much the home team puts into it if you first find yourself behind. Integrity is put to the test, and it takes a pretty tough nut to crack to be able to stand up to it, when you are potentially outplayed. There will be pressure anyway, so here you can really feel the difference in level.

Liverpool probably also feel that they can now let loose a little more. Last weekend ended with them moving another two points off the top, and it is only theory at this point that can prevent league gold. I think this can lead to a more relaxed game, more calm over the attacking game, and a joy of playing that can result in more goals. That the Reds want to end the season in style, as champions, seems to be the most natural thing. Therefore, we land on a bet that fits into the series. Liverpool have scored over 2.5 goals against Leicester on the last four occasions, and we think they will repeat the feat next Sunday. This will of course also, most likely, lead to victory, so feel free to place a selection if you want slightly higher odds.
