Analysis Information
We are going to another match in the German DEL. A league we have followed closely for a few seasons here at 90minutefamily. It is a league that delivers in terms of goals and action. We love it. This time we go to Wolfsburg to take on Mannheim. The match will be played in EisArena.
We have now reached round 30 of 52, and the table has definitely started to take shape. The home team is currently stuck in 10th place. Which is the last place that will give the playoffs. A place they will fight hard to keep. Last year they ended up outside by the smallest possible margin, when they came in 11th. The away team, on the other hand, has also been established as a top team this year, and is currently in 2nd place. only 1 point behind league leader ERC Ingolstadt. We think they will stay there all this season, and at least after this one.
Grizzly's Wolfsburg - Finding no stability.
The team plays good individual games. But fails to build momentum over time. It has really been a given for this team for a couple of seasons now. When you finally get some faith in the team, they tend to fall into long periods of poor results. This season is no exception either.
The last 7 games the team has 2 wins and 5 losses. Where the one win came against Dresden, who absolutely beat everyone. So they are really in a weak period now. In that sense it is not entirely lucky to meet one of the best teams in the division right now. But at the same time what do they have to lose?
When it comes to players to talk about, it is perhaps the experienced Matt White who has impressed the most. The 36-year-old American is their best point picker. Even though he plays all the way down in the 3rd row at Wolfsburg. 27 points in 28 games have been. It is likely to be his best season since the 21/22 season, when he had 72 points in 66 games for Eisbaren Berlin.
Otherwise, there's little to write home about when it comes to this team. There are some good players from Canada, of course. But then again, every team in Germany has that.
Adler Mannheim – has found its form again.
Mannheim has undoubtedly found a good form these days. Because after the team in late October to mid-November had 5 losses in a row. Has now only made 2 losses in the last 11 games. What is also a bit special, is that both losses came against the same opponent. It looks like Cologne has had a good hold on Mannheim this year.
These losses aside, the team has really delivered the goods, and they have re-established themselves as a serious contender to take home the title.
There are also a lot of goals in the team at the moment, and they have scored 4 goals or more in 7 games in a row now. They don't stop scoring. We like that. Teams that can score a lot can be able to bring home a victory even if they have a bad day at the back. It should also be said that the team is super solid at the back, and is the team that has conceded by far the fewest goals of all teams so far. That also gives a sense of security.
The team's best point picker is German Marc Michaelis. The 30-year-old also had games for the Vancouver Canucks in 20/21. So that there was quality there, no one doubted. Otherwise, as usual, both American and Canadian players contribute offensively. So it's like in the rest of the league, good with quality on that front.
Conclusion – The best team wins.
If we look at these two teams here, Mannheim should be the clearly better team of these two. Something that the results from the mutual matches from earlier this year also show. Both previous matches this year have been won by Mannheim (2-4 and 3-1). It is therefore tempting to go for a clean victory for the away team.
But we are a little bit safer because we get such good odds on a slightly safer bet. We therefore try the following:
Hockey at 14:00: Grizzlys Wolfsburg - Adler Mannheim: Adler Mannheim wins moneyline (1.78)
