Frankfurt Lions – ERC Ingolstadt 02-03-2025

Analysis Information
We are going to the German top league, DEL, where ERC Ingolstadt has already won the regular season with 3 games left to play.
The team from the city located 80 km north of Munich, in idyllic surroundings along the Danube. It has also been idyllic on the pitch this season. The team has more or less been at the top the whole season. A fantastic boost for the club that came in 9th place last season.
The Frankfurt Lions, on the other hand, are exactly where they were expected to be. The team is currently in 11th place, 2 points behind the play-off spot. The team finished 12th last year.
Frankfurt Lions – A capitulated team.
Frankfurt, who were long within the play-off spots, have simply performed horribly lately. This has now taken them out of good company, and we believe they will soon remain there. The results lately are reminiscent of a team that has resigned, and they are now on a four-game losing streak. The numbers 7-2, 2-4, 4-8 and 5-1 are not results that remind us of a team that is fighting.
Where the team delivered some strong results in the past. Especially at home, it now seems as if the air has run out a bit. Now they face the strongest team of all, and we don't see them winning this one, even though the league gold is in their hands for the opponent.
They are where they belong in the table. Only 3 teams have conceded more goals, and they are all at the back of the table. The same applies to goals scored. Only 4 teams have scored less. We believe there is a class difference between the teams right now, and that a win at home against this type of opposition is not possible for this team with meaningful form.
ERC Ingolstadt – Simply a complete team.
The team that has had a tremendous development since last year. The team is superb in the table, and we understand it well. The team has scored the most of all, and only 1 team has conceded less. A good characteristic of a good hockey team. They are number 1 or 2 in all the tables. They are the best home team, second best away team, second best form team, etc. We only see quality here, and we don't think this team will let down now just before the playoffs are about to start.
The team is full of quality offensively, and as elsewhere in this league it is characterized by Canadians and Americans. The league is known for filling up with players from across the pond, and here ERC Ingolstadt has clearly hit the mark. The team is in great form, and has won the last 6 games, and all after full time.
We have been impressed, and we feel that if we get good odds, they are a team we have to try. The team has beaten many of the good teams recently, and seem to be completely unbeatable at the moment.
Conclusion – Away good and away best.
Here, home field advantage for Frankfurt Lions will not help. ERC Ingolstadt will be too superior for that. In terms of form, these teams are night and day at the moment. We do not think the away team will let themselves down, and that they are already thinking about maintaining their form for the playoffs.
Internally this year, it hasn't actually looked that bad for the home team. They have won the last two internal matches. While ERC Ingolstadt has only won the first match this year. So we think there is little chance of underestimating this one, and that it is a good test with the playoffs in mind.
We get good odds for the reigning league champion, and feel we have to try. We therefore go for the following bet.
Hockey at 14:00: Frankfurt Løwne – ERC Ingolstadt: ERC Ingolstadt to win (1.80)
