Analysis of:
FC Nordsjælland – Brøndby IF

Analysis Information
The Danish Superliga premiere didn't offer any big surprises when it came to goals. As expected, the attacks were full speed, and goals were scored in almost every match. Our two Zealand main players this Sunday were no exception – both teams scored 3 goals each!
FC North Zealand
The home team is perhaps more known for talent development and offensive football than for winning trophies or having a large and loyal fan base. This is often reflected in the average age of the team. In the season premiere last weekend, the average age of the starting lineup was 23 years and 38 days – the lowest in the entire Superliga.
As a wise man once said:
"You don't win gold with teenagers."
Nordsjælland have lost five players over the summer – three of them very important defensive players. The club has not brought in replacements from outside, but has instead chosen to continue investing in its own talents and promoted two players from the academy. I think that could hurt defensively.
Another point is that the team is still in a kind of transition phase after the coaching change last year. Jens Olsen seems like a capable man for the project, but it is still clear that the team's performance fluctuates - especially against high-intensity opposition.
Nordsjælland are strong on artificial turf at home in Farum, but defensively they still seem unstable, especially in transitions against more physical teams.
Brondby IF
Brøndby have also sold big names, including Brøndby boy and legend Mathias Kvistgaarden, as well as cult hero Yuito Suzuki. Many – myself included – thought it would be a big loss for the team from Vestegnen.
But there they caught us off guard. They put Bundgaard up top and Vallys out on the right, and it turned out to be a stroke of genius. Rarely have I seen two players tear a Silkeborg team apart so effectively. Bundgaard made the net flutter four times – two of them were goals, the other two were cancelled out for slight offsides. A demonstration of power, quite simply.
Brøndby has also lost their captain in central defence, Jacob Rasmussen, and that will be felt – especially against teams with high offensive quality. Just like FC Nordsjælland.
But they also have a player in Nicolai Vallys who could be the league's biggest x-factor this season. He thrives in space, challenges one-on-one, and can create something out of nothing. The combination with Bundgaard could quickly prove deadly – especially against an inexperienced and high-stakes Nordsjælland line.
In addition, it seems that Brøndby has increased the pace and aggressiveness of their pressing game compared to last year. This makes them extra dangerous in recovering high up the pitch.
Conclusion – Keepers are in a hurry
These are two teams that are undoubtedly the best forwards on the pitch. They have scored a total of 111 goals in 64 matches. At the same time, they have conceded 102 goals. And this was before both teams lost key players in defense!
Both teams have started the season with a bang and seem to have their offensive identity intact – if not even stronger. The combination of youthful pace in Nordsjælland and explosive quality in Brøndby should guarantee entertainment.
That's why I play:
Denmark at 18:00: FC Nordsjælland – Brøndby IF: Over 3 goals (Asian) in the match (1.85)
Alternatively:
Denmark at 18:00: FC Nordsjælland – Brøndby IF: Over 1.5 goals to Brøndby (1.86)
