The team looks incredibly solid, and at home in the American Airlines Center, they will be a tough nut to crack for the Vancouver Canucks. They are coming off two losses now, and haven't gotten off to the start they were hoping for. Let's take a look at what we can expect in this one.
Dallas Stars – a solid team for several seasons
Dallas is a team that has been built over many years now, and they have been solid for a long time. It is a physical team with many star players. In addition, if the young players can continue to make strides, they may even be one of those teams that goes all the way.
They changed coaches before this season. Which is a pretty tough choice, considering that Pete DeBoer has taken them quite far three years in a row. It still says a bit about the ambitions the club has in taking the final step, now that Glen Gulutzan is back. They will do everything to get to the top.

Vancouver Canucks – back to the playoffs
After a disappointing season last year, the Canucks were left out of the playoff race. They have a clear goal to do something about that this season. But there are a lot of things that have to fall into place as we see it if they are to succeed. Last year, the team struggled to get their biggest star going. Elias Pettersson. He finished with 45 (15 goals – 30 assists) points in 64 games. A long way behind the level he showed in the 22-23 season. When he finished with 102 (39 goals – 63 assists) points in 80 games. That is where his level really belongs. If they can get him going again, they may be able to get back into good company.
They will probably spend a period of time figuring things out. They are working with a number of consultations and are not quite finished with it in the early phase of the season. New pieces will find their place, such as Evander Kane. It is not yet decided where he belongs. Maybe he will end up in the first row together with the aforementioned Pettersson, to try to create a super row, or they will spread the quality a little to become a more solid team in several rows.
They are still in a building phase, and it will be exciting to see where they end up during the season. But one thing we are sure of is that they will have a tough time against an opponent who has already figured things out like Dallas has.
Conclusion – the home team is better now
This early in the season we feel confident that the home team will be the better of these two teams. Dallas simply looks more complete than Vancouver as of today. So we will have to try a game in that direction.
