Celta Vigo – Osasuna 21-02-2025

New Spanish football weekend and we believe we have found playable odds already in the Friday match, where Celta Vigo takes on Osasuna. This is an important match, where both teams should go out on the pitch to score.

CELTA VIGO

Celta Vigo have recently shown improvement with four points against Betis and Atletico Madrid respectively. They impressed me a lot in the goal-scoring win against Betis, and even though Atletico Madrid had a player sent off, it is strong to score against Simeone's men. And Celta Vigo have shown a fine goal-scoring flair this year, with 35 goals in 24 games, with 21 of those goals coming at home. And even though the team from the west coast is 14th in the table, five places behind today's opponent, it is reasonable to assume that they will feel the buzz.

And they could easily need a couple of goals here, as both Javier Rodrguez Galiano is out with injury and Swede Carl Startfelt has to serve a suspension. But beyond a newly composed defense, the same ones who impressed against Atletico Madrid will probably get renewed confidence here.

OSASUNA

Osasuna have been tough to beat this season, and Celta Vigo will know that the Pamplona side drew with Real Madrid and won 4-2 against Barcelona. And for Vicente Moreno, there is no reason to change what has worked so well so far this year, so we expect a fearless away team that will be looking to win. And with 13 goals so far this year, Ante Budimir is expected to once again take the lead for the visitors.

But the away team also has important shortcomings for this match, and the most important of them is probably the absence of Jesus Areso and Aimar Oroz. Too many yellow cards mean that Moreno will have to shuffle the team that played so well against Real Madrid last time. But apart from that, they will probably be relatively unchanged.

CONCLUSION

Here I think we will see a home team, who are legitimate favorites to run the game, both in terms of possession and scoring chances. While Osasuna will lie low and take the counterattack opportunities when they come. And with the defensive lapses of the home team I think there is good value in the following games;
