Analysis Information
Once again, the Champions League anthem will resound over Aspmyra.
The Norwegian people are holding their breath – because once again a major European team will test their strength in the winter cold at the Nordic region's most feared fortress. This time it is the Italian Juventus who have traveled to Bodø to pick up three points. But before they can board the plane back home with victory in their luggage, they must overcome three familiar obstacles:
The snow. Bodø/Glimt. The fans.
Bodø/Glimt – Unstoppable in the North
Glimt is a completely different team at Aspmyra than away from home.
The artificial turf, the wind, the temperature and the pressure from the crowd often make the pace too much for the opponents. They press high, they keep the ball in the team and they have a unique ability to create chances from the wings.
In the Champions League, Glimt have shown time and time again that they are not intimidated – quite the opposite. They run more, press more and push the opponent deeper into their own box. This often results in many corners , especially at home where the crowd drives them forward.
Juventus – In uncharted waters
For Juventus, Aspmyra is anything but comfortable.
It's not San Siro, it's not Allianz Stadium – it's a cold, ice-slicking challenge in the middle of the northern Norwegian darkness. The Italian giants are used to controlled tempo and structure, but here they face a Glimt team that forces the opponent to defend for long periods.
Juventus often lie deep in such matches, especially away in Europe. They prioritize security, compact formation and counterattacks rather than dictating the game. That means one thing: They will defend a lot wide, and wide defense = corners against.
Summary
Bodø/Glimt will take the initiative in the match, regardless of the opposition. They press high, cross and test the opponent's full-backs regularly. Against a Juventus team that likes to settle into a low block, Glimt will be forced to shoot a lot from the wing.
Against a defensive-minded Juventus team that likes to lie deep, this is a game that fits perfectly.
Glimt has both the intensity, structure and home-field advantage to produce a consistent pressure that almost always results in 4.5+ corners.
