Analysis of:
Adelaide United W – Canberra United W 15-02-2025

Analysis Information
As usual, you get football for breakfast from Australia, and this time it's Canberra's ladies who will visit Adelaide. And we feel confident about who will be left with the points.
Adelaide United
The home team is in good form today, with their strong attacking line the team creates an incredible number of chances. With a 27-19 goal difference the ladies deliver in match after match. The red-clad have scored 27 goals in 15 matches, which gives a goal average of 1.80 goals per match. In the last five matches the team has only missed two points. The team is 4-1-0 in the last five.
You might get the impression that only attack is important for this team, but you would be wrong. With 19 goals conceded in 15 games, the team is conceding 1.2 goals per game. It could be better, but it could definitely be worse. The home team has actually shared 1st place in keeping clean sheets, along with Melbourne Victory. Adelaide has left the field six times without conceding a goal.
At Adelaide, Emily Condon is particularly noteworthy. The midfielder has six goals and three assists in 14 games. Exactly what you want to see in an attacking midfielder. Condon is one of the reasons why Adelaide manages to get a good attacking game, but it also helps to have strikers like Eirin Healy and Chelsie Dawber. Two strikers who have five and six goals each. And there will probably be more goals.
Canberra United
The capital team is exciting, but unfortunately they are too variable in their performances. Canberra is actually the team I have followed the longest in this league. And my fascination started with Michelle Heyman. The captain, and attacking players, who constantly managed to put the ball in the goal, even against better opposition. Because we really can't talk enough about Heyman, if we are going to talk about Canberra. As captain and top scorer, Heyman is the core of this team.
But the away team has only scored 17 goals this season. Nevertheless, the team has managed to stay in a solid 7th place in the table, with 20 goals conceded. Canberra likes to control their games, and score late to secure points. And here they will probably be more than happy with a point spread.
It's hard to say how the Greens will fare in this match, but I think they have a chance to get a goal. Maja Markovski is a young talent who can both score and play Heyman well. The visitors have managed to keep a clean sheet in four matches so far, but it probably won't be a clean sheet after the visit to Adelaide.
Summary
When a team with a high goal average faces a team with a low goal average, it's always exciting. Will Adelaide manage to score as many goals against a defensive team like Canberra, or will it be a goalless draw?
Because even if Canberra doesn't average high, Adelaide will still get goals. I'm fairly certain of that. But how many there will be, I don't dare to predict. I can vouch for a victory for Adelaide, on the other hand. Adelaide can probably score 1.5 goals, but Canberra's low average scares me a bit. The away team could easily manage a 0-0 at half-time and then decide the match in the 2nd half.
Game selection
The bet selection in the match is a bit tricky, but as mentioned above, I'm leaning towards the home team. Especially considering the good form they are in these days. I've been impressed, and I think we get paid well for the following bets;
06:50: Adelaide United W - Canberra United: Adelaide United W to win (1.80)
